Drove over to the gf's place today, even in 4wd I was having trouble keeping the truck on the laneway.
Drove into town busting through 3-4 foot drifts with about 20' of visibility.
Here is a pic, visibility has improved a lot but it's not nice out there.

1.6W 445nm on the left, ~600mW 405nm on the right ;)

Whoa talk about beautiful lasers and we just got some snow here in PA.

We're supposed to get about 4" of snow here starting tomorrow. It sucks I don't have a functional 445nm build.. Guess i'll have to settle for RGV snow beamshots.

Well its dark now, I can still hear the wind rippin out there so a couple more snowy beamshots might be in order, the 405 isn't very pretty in that pic :(

Wish me luck braving the elements ^_^

Cancel that, there is a snowdrift blocking the door closed.......
Howinnahell am I gonna get out of here?

Battering ram? :D
And I thought I had it bad when I shoveled about 8"-12" of snow out of the driveway.

Was going to get groceries today, decided tomorrow would be better.
That may have been an error in judgment

Oddly, my girlfriend likes to shovel snow. She is a little strange I know, but I don't think her car will even be able to make it up the lane lol.

Thats exactly what I had to do.
I popped the screen strip out of the channed, popped the screen out, tunneled my way out but loading the snow in a pot and dumping it into a sink full of hot water (overflows into the other sink's drain), and then I shoveled the doorway clear.

It is still a whiteout....

I didn't get pics of the door but this is my truck

Chatted with the gf on msn before I got out, she did offer to shovel her way up the driveway, shovel open the door and rescue me
I think I've got a keeper ;)

Yeah, that is all flat ground by the way, the driveway has 4 foot drifts across it and they are really hard now from busting through them yesterday.
I'm thinking a few truckloads of salt would be easier >_<

Depends on your winter gear, I have slept outside overnight at -35*C wearing exactly that (plus gauntlet style leather mitts) and slept sound until the light woke me up.
I had a buddy that was sleeping outside in a sleeping bag with a sheet of poly (thick clear plastic used in construction) wrapped around him.
In the middle of the night he woke up to a weird sound, he could just make out by the starlight, a coyote standing on top of him trying to *sniiiiiifffffffffffff* his face through the plastic.
Of course he jumped when he realized what it was and when he moved, the coyote figured it out too lol.
Don't think either one slept again that night ^_^

What I'd give to live somewhere where it snows :( Our winters never really drop below 12 deg C :(
