Hi everyone,

My name is Darren,

I've been obsessed with lasers since I was a young teen when my uncle gave me a basic laser pointer.


I'm now a 36 yo sales manager living from the UK who work's for First Lighting. I'm very fortunate that they don't seem to mind my laser obsession there at all, in fact it's almsot encouraged :wave:
 





Welcome Darren, to LPF, lasers are breed of their own. Glad your boss encourages your hobby. He probably knows how expensive it is and is thinking about all the overtime he'll be able to get out of you ( heeee ). :).

Make sure you read up on laser safety and get the appropriate glasses in the correct wavelengh your going for. But enjoy and stay safe!

Welcome to LPF, definitely as Bob said the stickies can have really useful info. Ever made any pointers? Or any unique builds? :yh:

As EP says building is the way to go. You'll get there in time.

Just remember large focus adapters or you'll burn your finger like me and 99% of the people on the forum can testify to. The tips of my fingers are cauterized ( I'm a slow learner ). :)

So it's not just me being stupid then? Whew... I was seriously afraid I'd been 'branded' (quite literally) as a noob idiot. ;-)
