NO! NO!! That is a terrible thing to have. It will eat your children. Your nostrils will cross and you will twist your head off the next time you sneeze. You should avoid looking there at all costs.

That looks like the first pointer I ever saw. We had a demo from Onatrio Hydro when I was in grade 6, the guy had a pointer around that size which also took 2x9v. He said it had a run time of 20min, and was an impressive unit. I agree with Dave, YOU DONT WANT IT!

Me thinks there will be a bid war for this one. The original cost was shy of 1000. 1989 dollars :)



The tube is probably similar to this. Mine is a 0.8mW 632.8 and is approx 4.5in long

I got one of those tubes for free when I bought my $1000 7mw greenie 10 years ago.
I just bid $50, I'll go to $200.

Any chance you could post a pic of the antique green? I've seen some crazy designs and I'm curious about this one. :)
 
This is the antique green. I've seen similar units for sale for about $200 today. This was purchased in 1999 for about $750 and if I'm not mistaken I had to pay about $200 for the power supply. It hurts to think about it now. You can see the little power supply with the heat sink. I had the thing rigged to run off my car acc. jack or batteries. It still works but the IR filter is clouded.
The little bumps on the laser are rubber bumpers for holding and in case I ever dropped it (I never did)

Wow, that IS antique! That looks pre-CNI lol. I'm jealous... it's cool cause it's old. I could make one, but it would just be a pointerless module if I did lol
 
wow.... if only this was NEXT week... I'd be on that hene like white on rice.
 
IF I win this I'll do a nice review with some nice 632.8 beam shots. Some people have antique cars, I'll have antique handhelds. I'm currently looking at a 635 handheld for the added beam intensity. This should be like a 10mw 650 dont you think?
 
Good thing I read this thread I was gonna start bidding on this laser as well :D Dont want to get into a bid war with a fellow LPF member.

I went to $110 and quit. I can't afford anymore. How can you tell if a shill is working on you? Person who outbid me has 0 feedback rating and has done most of their bidding in the last 30 days with numerous stunguns. Strange
 
632nm isn't as visible as you may think, my 1-2mW HeNe is neat, but the power just isn't there - it matches up to maybe 7mW or so of 650nm

Sounds fishy to me. I have run into a shill bidder once or twice on Ebay. It cheeses me off.
