So I just got my Radiant X-4 yesterday (don't worry, I'll get a review up soon). The LPM works great, but Ive been having troubles connecting it to Peregrine for data-logging. I downloaded Peregrine just fine, and it seems to work, but just will not receive any data from the LPM. I'm not quite sure if I installed the drivers properly, if that could be the problem. I'm on a Mac running Lion. If any screenshots, etc. are necessary, just let me know.

Thanks in advance.

I know i had problems connecting at first... Did you setup the .txt file for the software to connect to the right LPM. From memory you need to change some options by changing a number associated with a certain type of interface/LPM for it to work...
Ill get back to you after i mess with it :)

OK, ill get some pics up of what i was talking about...
So, the directory for mac is:\Peregrine_1_5_0_4\Mac OSX\Peregrine.app\Contents\Resources\Java\data\Peregrine.conf
You need to open it with a text editor like this:

When I plug the LPM into a usb port, it adds two options to the connect drop-down menu: "/dev/tty.usbmodem431" and "/dev/cu.usbmodem431". When I click the connect button for either of them, though, it still doesn't pick up any data stream.

Try what i did in my previous post :)
The part that i highlighted in blue is the value you would need to change. after "Comm.Serial.Protocol =" is where you put your option/value

In that case, i cant help any further :( Have you got the LPM specific data logging software. Like the Radiant X-4 of "Eagle Eye TM"?

The X-4 uses Light Speed for Windows and Peregrine for everything else.

Ahh, that makes sense. I dont use MAC, but does it acknowledge that there's a USB device plugged in at all and if so what does it call it? Maybe it's a driver issue IDK. Your best bet is to contact the guys at ILS where you bought it from :)

Yah, It knows there is a device plugged in, just won't connect to it (or if it is connected, receive information). I PMed csshih yesterday, but no reply yet. I'll try his email if its listed on their site. thanks

Try PMing Trevor. Also, I always get you two confused lol.

If you could go into debug mode (change it in the text file) connect to the LPM and take a screenshot that would help trouble shoot :)

Can you connect it then take the screen shot? Got to see what's being received by Peregrine.

Edit: What is your baud set to?

That is connected, unless I'm connecting something wrong. When I unplug the LPM, the "/dev/tty.usbmodem431" option goes away.

Click the green connect button to the right of the "/dev/tty.usbmodem431" :)
