Help Please!

Hi im new to the laser technology and how they all work. I recently brought a 300mw green laser to play around with to pop and burn things but since realised how dangerous they can be to the eyes. Here is the laser I purchased

Ive been recommended to buy arg filter glasses but they are £97 in the UK I was just wondering is this a good price and is there anything else I should be aware of that is a danger?

They originally quoted £107 but then got 10% dicount they say they are cheapest in UK. I wanna make sure I get good quality you only have one pair of eyes which is why im worried. Ive also been told to worry about IR because some lasers dont have the filter and this can damage your eys because its an invisible beam:s

They are good for blue/violet as well if you ever get one of those.

PS. IR is not a problem as long as you observe proper laser-safety, ie don't point it in the direction of another person.

where can you get good cheap blue or violet lasers that you can see the beam on?

Blue/violet lasers need to be quite a bit more powerful than green lasers before you can see the beam. I'm not sure exactly how much more. Blues are also still quite expensive even for a few mW. For blues, check the CNI GB, and for violet check out the buy and sell forum... there are people on here that can build you a 0.5W 405nm.

i have my doubts about it being up to spec....otherwise we would all have a 300mW pointer if it only costs $145

O yeh i totally agree but it does burn though cd cases pops ballons and lights matchs so its still high power

Undoubtedly it was pulled due to the fact that it's against ebay regs to sell high-powered portable lasers.
