Hello.

I need to know the necessary components for laser show at home, "lost cost".
Not I look for espectacularity, I want basic forms... beam, tunnel, beam splitters or beam combiners, different focus angles... and to move them to the music's rhythm.

I have 3 modules (12v.) laser 3b class :
Red 200mW
Green 50mW
Blue / violet 200mW

Laptop LENOVO IdeaPad S-12
Sound Card CAKEWALK UA-25EX connected to laptop and stereo amplifier Hi-Fi.

I request help for rest of necessary components, galvo, software, connection to sound card...?

Best Regards.

Juanma.

We're not going to spoon-feed you. Read the stickies in the forum and when you have specific questions, come back and ask.

Sorry, I am a fan that I begin and I look for information, excuse for my expression, I don't dominate their language.: : Yabbem:

To begin basic laser show, besides the modules laser that I already have.
Do they serve these galvos with card ILDA, or do I need something more to connect to the PC and the system HI-FI?

I only want simple graphics, tunnel, beams, diffractions and not very more, but to be able to adjust to the music's rhythm.
If they are not adapted for this, I appreciate information of what I need.

Best Regards.

That galvo you linked to on that eBay page looks like it has the right connectors, but you'll need some lasers, and a DAC to connect to it. Look at the Sound Card DAC sticky in this forum to see how one can be made with an inexpensive sound card.

Thank you for the answer.

Do I have a sound card CAKEWALK UA-25EX, could it serve as DAC?

UA-25EX :: Products :: Roland

I continue reading the forum looking for information.
Not I want to bother, but I find difficult a lot to understand their language (I am Spanish) and I use a translator.

Sorry, I don't. You should either use one of the sound cards that are known to work, or do some experimenting yourself.

Hello.

I have a doubt.

That they adjust these marked screws as VR1 and VR2?

That who adjust those pots (the screws) for what? Those are probably to adjust the power sent to the laser, and perhaps the temperature of the TEC.

Alone to know if it could reduce or to increase the power and reason two screws?

I have other modules (economic) that have a screw with which you can adjust power. But this it incorporates two and for that reason my doubt.

One is for power, the other controls the thermoelectric cooler (TEC) that cools the laser diode. Adjusting the latter will also impact power output, as the temperature of the laser diode is set so that the efficiency of the laser is maximized.

The galvos of 30Kpps arrived and I have been making tests with the card test show. At the moment alone with the module of green.
I have to make the aluminum base to fix all the components well and to begin to adjust the system.

Thanks to all for the help and the support.

I keep in mind all the recommendations, advice and critical.
Alone a test is, now I do have to make the aluminum base and to begin to fix the modules and the galvos; do I have a problem with the module of red (635nm/200mW) the beam it is very thick and with a lot of divergence, not you if to mount it or to buy other red of 650nm, but do I want that it is very visible, what you advise me?

All the construction steps go them detailing in my blog, for who can be him/her useful.

If you want it visible, it'll probably have to be a shorter wavelength like 635nm. However, the only inexpensive variety we have access to in higher powers have terrible divergence as you noticed. I'm not sure what is available to you in Spain, but something you can try is to invest in some cylindrical lenses and try to correct for the divergence. As you don't need the lenses to be portable, it won't be so hard to incorporate such lenses into a projector.

Hello.

Yes, I want that the beam is seen.

I have a 300w/635nm of Mitsubishi, mounted in a module TTL of an old one 405nm/200mW that I burned.
And don't leave a lot (a little less than a 635nm/200mW TTL), I suppose that due to not being mounted in the appropriate module.

It is mounted in this module:
http://www.ebay.es/itm/230701068562...X:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649#ht_3498wt_1166

And with these lenses:
http://www.ebay.es/itm/260970704215...X:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2648#ht_1298wt_1166

If he/she knows what badge type TTL can put for sack the maximum profit to Mitsubishi 300mW, please tell it to me!

As for the lenses to correct the divergence of the 635nm, the links of its post they are not operative.
With what name should I look for them?

Again thank you for their help.

Best Regards.

Juanma.
