under $40 for 250mw green? that won't be up to spec

and that 'little red light shin' you looked in to may have been a huge amount of IR light that just damaged your eyes

looking in to ANY laser that is >1mw is a bad idea, if that's what you meant

you should get your eyes checked by an eye specialist immediately

As Magmabeam said, That "red light" is the IR pump diode and could be 500mW-1W of invisible IR. Do not look into it. I realize you already did, but I have to reiterate what Magmabeam said just to make sure you understand what you just did -- you stared into an operating high-powered infrared laser.

It sounds like the battery to me, but I'm no expert...

I'm just assuming here... (you know what that means)
but let me guess:
- It's a li-on battery
- you have no charger
??

Man, I got the willies when i saw that dim red dot.

You need to go get your eyes looked at pronto.

definitely get your eyes checked!

i once had a laser from focalprice that did the same thing. but i then turned down the pot and the 532 began to lase again. try turning down your pot if you can access it. but then again maybe it is totally dead...

FYI, he hasn't tested new batteries, and has no charger...

I've PMed him suggesting testing with new batteries and actually getting a charger.
