please define your problem with focusing a little better. if the spot from a distance is fuzzy then you either have a dirty lense, or you have it focused for close up burning...... you will never be able to see the red beam in day light.

No, my problem isn't refere to focusing or to the beam absoluty no! I meant that the batteries are a very bad smell and the laser are very bad smell burning stinks how can I resolve?
 
if something smells on the laser, id say its probably the resistor on the driver board.

also take your batteries out... and check for a busted battery... is the smell a burned smell or something else?

to be honest i am not sure. those drivers have small components. you could just try to change the whole driver for like 25 bucks. but you could just get another laser for that price. did you try to pot mod it?

How can I do this? I risk to damage the laser?

EDIT: I have an another question....this laser is without IR filter...is harmful to health?

have you already checked your batteries? first things first make sure your batteries aren't about to fail. When they do, it can be as little as a little gunk coming out to as much as a fireball expelling red-hot burning chemicals everywhere. Make sure nothing on the batteries looks damaged.

Chances are, though, it's some component on your driver that has failed, for whatever reason.

Thats a 650nm diode in there which outputs ONLY 650nm+/- a few nm. No IR, that's from green lasers that use a IR diode and crystals to change it into green(DPSS), and some of the IR leaks and thats why greens have IR but diode lasers such as this will never have IR unless it's an IR diode.:)

**EDIT** So no IR filter needed...

Which means that it does NOT need an IR filter
 
ok then I realized it is useless to buy expensive laser with IR filter ... thanks
EDIT: I changed the batteries with new ones .... But after the few minutes they used the same smell of the previous .....
 
What your smelling is just the odor from a cheap chinese laser. Their are little to no environmental quality standards in their manufacturing process. Unless the factory is manufacturing for a well known brand, or item that will be sold in multiple markets.

The smell could be from a number of things. From the way the actual circuit board was processed. To the coating on any wires, or the even glue used to secure the diode to the driver.

I would not worry about it, just don't breath the fumes too much;)
