Hello,

I decided to join the forum so I could learn more about the ins-n-outs of laser pointers. Although I have been using pointers for years during lectures and seminars, I am a research scientist, I just this morning purchased my first 'personal' laser pointer.

I got tired of always using the department ones, which never seemed bright enough or well-enought designed.

Anyway, just wanted to say hi here.

Now I am off to find the right subforum to post some questions I have about the laser pointer I have on its way to me.

Thanks to you and the other members for a warm welcome (and a warning about how addictive lasers can be ).

I definitely did not go with Wicked Lasers, but I did go ahead and order a 200mW 405nm TopLaser 302 pointer online from www.fadbus.com.

I wound up paying ~$50 shipped for the laser pointer and a battery recharger. The pointer comes with one 18650 battery.

After learning of the existence of this forum and reading through one or two of the threads that mentions TopLaser 302 I hope I don't come to regret my not-thoroughly-researched purchase.

I will let you all know how it turns out. Or, since I just placed the order today via PayPal, do you think I should try to get a refund and more education before making a new purchase?
