My name is Randall and I live in Upstate New York. I'd never had much exposure to lasers until I reached the optics unit in my physics class and thought it was pretty neat. I've already had fun performing basic experiments with cheap red laser diodes, but I'm quickly becoming more invested. As suggested by many I first purchased eye protection from Survival Laser, although I still have to do more research into a suitable green laser. LPF has proven to be a community much more accepting of beginners than I'm used to.

Lifetime17 has 40+ pic's of some great builds from every level you want..
Full working custom builds, custom plug and play builds with just 2 wires to connect,
flashlight modded host's and even little things like heatsinks for your needs or focus knobs. All very very nicely priced..

This forum has lost a few custom builders over the years and Lifetime17 "Rich" is just about the only go to guy here and a blessing.
He's not really in it for the money and you will see it in his prices, he just seems to love a challenge..:)

Hi Lifetime ,
They are beautiful and well made, they look like the ones you buy on the various websites that sell the laser pointers ready, so mine is a compliment not a tease .... it means that there is no margin of error in building a laser host :-)

So it seems to me that I understood that Lifetime17 is the only laser host manufacturer left here "active" on LPF? and the other builders why have they abandoned the "ship"?

Look like the website ones? I don't know about that:LOL::unsure:
The insides of Lifetime's builds I assure you are top notch drivers and new diodes.. Irish, the cheap web sight laser use most likely heavy use didoes and cheap drivers.. Just look how many threads and posts about my "Thor" or "Gattling gun" laser died..;)

No they didn't abandon, they just wen't most likely a different direction..
Lifetime and Thang thong are just almost the 2 remaining although Lifetime is US based and ships usually 2 days!
 
It was a compliment, for the perfection of the hosts!
It is clear that the Chinese also create lasers that have a power of 100,000 mw (but only in their dreams) so you just need to understand what I mean! Thor or Gattling are only (small talk and badge) (n)
 
Welcome to the LPF, Randall. Check out the 301 and 303 532nm green lasers on eBay. They can be had for as little as $6.00 each and usually reach 80 mW in optical power. Enjoy your stay.
