I'm pretty new myself. Always loved lasers, but finally in a place where I can buy kind of what I want, and have been,,,ugh. Money is easy to leave, not so easy to keep it home, lol. I'm also from Florida...Boca. So are you building a laser now?

Please dont be dumb and shine lasers are people, vehicles (ground or air bound) and animals. we already had a dumbass 20 miles from me shine one at the coast guard last weekend.

Ha! livinLoud, not too far off with Floridiots, although I never heard before...mind if I borrow it? I'm originally from upstate NY and then most of my life in CT. After my dad died my family moved here, I stayed, but after about 5 yrs. I missed family so moved here, hated it, back to CT, but ended back here. It's been close to 20 yrs now and I'm ready to get out, but right now LASERS! Never here Masshole, but I always loved Mass. Did a lot skiing and camping there. Thanks for the advice on the yellow link...excellent info and advice. Looking forward to building a collection, creating some art, making some friends and learning alot. After reading so much here, I don't know much, Sir, not at all...lol

Yeah, Masshole is more of a Mass thing and people outside MA dont know what they mean lol Floridiot is more of something i made up on the fly to mirror the Masshole nickname you can use either if you ever want.

There is actually a site called masshole.com, it has alot of cool stuff, sports, etc....

New England is BEAUTIFUL and i do miss the snow, sometimes, since i snowboard and also love to take my ATVs out in the winter.

I myself was like you, thought i knew about lasers, came here and then saw i didnt know shat! got a lot of reading ahead of you but you will learn it. any questions, dont hesitate to ask me, or if you want a laser metered, want me to build you something, etc, etc.....

beware that what is listed on Chinese resellers sites for a power, isnt always the real thing (in case you didnt know already). Some companies, like the ones in my trusted sellers section, normally do a good job of lsiting the real powers but im always willing to meter members laser for free (just pay the shipping to and from or whatever we arrange)

Thanks alot, LivinLoud...I know what you mean about Chinese Sites..before doing my homework here, I bought a 400mw 445 from o-like and although the casing is great, the inards are garbage. I got a faint violet glow that amounted to nothing. Haven't gotten a response from them in two days. I spent the last couple days reading up on o-like and it seems they were pretty good earlier on, but have gone downhill and I got run over by their fast falling boulder. Wish I had checked in here first. Live and learn...
