Good laser for about max 100$

Hi!
I'm new to this laser things, but i want a green laser to experiment with, making tunnels and other cool club effects.
What are the "best" green laserpointers, whitch are most willing to "tune up" or are all laserpointers ready for tuning up?

If you're looking for raw mw power, go with dealextreme.com they have the cheapest mw/$ green lasers that i know, if you want quality, i think you can get an x25 from novalasers for 100$.

If you want to build a lasershow, you should consider that you will be running the laser continously. The DX lasers are not well suited for that, as they tend to dim after a minute or so due to thermal problems.

Visibility of the beam varies with ambient lighting and conditions. In a typical club it's usually quite dark and smokey (due to cigs or smoke machines), and then the beam of a 5 mw pointer will be quite visible.

A good 5mW is visible at night with a very light amount of effort. If you're looking to get a laser visible in daylight, you may want to tack on 2 0's to your budget (on the right side!) and then multiply it a few times.

For making tunnels, you will want lots of fog. Really, for any of that stuff you need lots of fog. If you're looking to get a laser to show an audience or something, you can't do it on $100 unfortunately. For personal use/experimentation though I'd suggest you get a good, quality 5mW laser (not the DX junk if you can help it)

Yeah i thought so, well in daylight isn't really that important, would be cool tho. Looking to experiment some and maybe use it for some cool FX just home at parties and stuff, not to a big audience, just a 5x4m room
Of course i have a fog machine, didn't think it would make a good tunnel in just air

So a 5mW laser can make good tunnels and stuff? What would a more powerful laser do for my experiments in such a small room? If i'm going to use mirrors and stuff would that reduce the power/light a lot or would it not be noticable?

Does the weaker 5/10/20mW ones have those thermal issues? Or can those be left on for a long time? Also i guess i should look for if the laser has continous output or what its called, so i get full lines instead of dots in a fast moving pattern?

maybe i guess you need one laser which power more then >30mw,the laser can emit green lines,it's power,you know,5/10/20mw,they have a weak beam of light.When you move your pointer fast ,you won't see any lines.

Now, this "warnlaser.com" really is only a spammer.
They are abusing this site only to promote their phony site that's full of misspellings and misrepresentations, very lame.

I think we can expect more of these kinds of bogus sites in the near future.

Are there any forum rules that address this kind of spamming?
Although amusing to view the site and count the misspellings, stolen photos and blaten lies; these posts and the spammer should be deleted.

It's one thing to be a forum member for a period of time providing help and services to the group and pluging your company once in awhile, but joining just for the reason of spamming everyones threads wtih their crap is just plain rude.

Hello Jack,
There are two sides to this. It is good to catch the scammers in their tracks and stop them. By doing so many of the forum members will know to stay away from them. And word does get around as you know.

I am not taking sides, just looking at the good in allowing the posts to continue.
