EDIT: Nevermind, It's automagically working again.

Today i got my CNI banner contest prize the GLP-589.
It suddenly stopped while i was using it, there was no sign of death like flickering or mode hopping :wtf:
It didn't even complete a whole minute of working time

Anyone had something like this? or is there anything i can do before i get replay from CNI?

Wow, sorry to hear that. You've been waiting all this time too.

They should replace it, but they might give you the run around because it was a prize.

Good luck.

Hopefully they will.
The first one has been confiscated (1 year ago), This one arrived but dead and the 3rd one...?
Looks like I don't have good luck with these 589nm.

I think It's the driver because I keept the button pressed for ~2 minutes and It didn't warm up, If it was the diode then the driver will get quite warm.

^ or that, or the LD got open-circuit (and in this case, if the driver is linear, it don't take any current and don't heat)

how to we know CNI didnt send you a dud laser on purpose?

I mean, they disagreed to giving out the laser for a while but ave talked them out of it... :(

Nice to see it's back and running

Have fun with the beautiful wavelength!

Wait.... is this the laser I just bought from you?

You didn't mention in the BST thread description that it was temperamental?
