For Sale today is a 1 Watt Laser. It features a key switch, side momentary on button, and a fixed focal point of ~ 1 inch away from the aperture. It runs off 1 CR123 battery. Includes the pictured case, 2 JUICE RCR123's, a JUICE CR123 Charger, the laser, and two keys. Sorry for crappy quality pictures, as these are from my phone.

*The camera seems to have a diffraction grating in it for 808 nM at close distances*

What kind of diode is it? (9mm or 5.6mm) and how can you tell it's 1W? What is the maximum power these diodes can be run at safely (as in, is it a diode being run at a power it should last a decent time in, or is it like running a 445nm at 1.5W or higher?)
 
Just in case any noobies are wandering around this thread, 808nm is not a visible wavelength, this laser can be very dangerous because you cant actually see it. Cameras can usually pick up the light though.

Just wanted to add this in because I didnt see it anywhere

Err... 808nm should certainly be visible. Bright, no. Visible, yes. Dull, dim red even at 1W. (Hazardous though yes, because you won't be perceiving the blinding brightness.)

Are you saying that you can't even see a dim red dot on the wall with this thing? I have quite a few 808nm lasers, and they're all visible. Maybe it's just me, but I don't even have to try hard to see them.

1W of 808 sure is dangerous, probably even on a white surface, but it shouldn't be truly invisible.

980nm on the other hand - yeah... that shouldn't be visible.

If this is 1W and you can't see a dot at all, it's probably 980nm, not 808.
 
Whoops! It is visible up close, with a color that is comparable to a 2 mW red keychain laser. Quoted post has been fixed.

Yeah thats what I was getting at. I should have been a bit more clear, Aryntha is correct, 808 should be visible but still dangerous because you cant actually see how bright it is.
