flexdrive v5 help

I am planning my first build and have a questions about the v5. I searched the forums but couldn't find an answer. My questions is about setting the current to the highest setting.

There is a white X. and also a yellow bridge. You do either one or the other correct? Bridge the resistors OR take the X resistor out?

Also which one of the methods is prefered?

From what i remember reading here there is no need to take out the resistor anymore. Bridging is sufficient. But maybe someone will correct me.
