I think this forum should have a flashlight section. Candlepowerforums has a laser section, why can't laser pointer forums have a flashlight section? Both devices produce light? Just a suggestion, let me know what you guys think!

Well let's think about this for a second lol. Candle power is light in general. They have sections for anything that produces light, therefore they aren't limited. This forum, however, is named Laser Pointer Forums. It's lasers lol :D ;) ;D 8-) :P

But, However people still think the b/s/t is eBay since they sell alot of stuff non/laser related.
 
I think this is a good idea. The forum could have a 'Flashlights, L.E.D's and other light emitting devices' section. People who are into lasers typically are interested in flashlights too. The same can be said about flashaholics and lasers. Currently all of the flashlight reviews and pics end up dumped in the off-topic section and lost.
 
Add a poll so I can vote yes. ;D

If we make a flashlight section, put it in Off Topic and keep anything flashlight related out of the the laser forums!

This. I think it should just be a generic "incoherent light" section, who knows it could be a success or it could flop like the medical lasers section that had a grand total of like 5 posts. But I think it would be broad enough to keep itself going

Well hold on there, good sir. I'm all for the "Other" section. In fact, you can already post ANYTHING there. I simply like the forum exactly the way it is. I have nothing against flashlights, I'd just go to CPF if need be. It already has everything flashlight related there and would make a lot more sense to go there for your flashlight related needs as it has quite copious amounts of info and the people with the knowledge and the stuff and the etcetera and whatnot :D
 
Thanks for the positive feedback guys... It looks like quite a few people would like a flashlight section to be added. Cool! :)
 
LPF is as stated LASER ---- That's why we're here. To discuss the building and use of lasers.
CPF is a super forum for flashlight devices and I have learned much there too.
Lets not dilute the purpose here.

We have a Geeks Section don't we? Computers are way more off topic than flashlights IMO. ;D

No, this is not a general light source forum, it's a laserpointerforum :-? Maybe in the off-topic section, but certainly not in any other section
 
Yeah, I was the first "No" in the poll. I think your intentions are good, but I just don't think it's a good idea. There's probably many reasons you can put to it, but my views still stand. This happens to be a laser pointer forum, and "a general light source forum" won't cut it in my opinion. It's too off-topic.

Also, I don't think computers are irrelevant because they are the platform we use to communicate about all this laser information and some people like using this platform for their own uses and such.
