FDA is after me?!?!

Website is back up and running! hopefully my recent changes will keep keep him away from me!!:(

well this morning i got a phone call from a guy asking about my website.....at first i thought it was a normal call from a paranoid customer.....
but then he asked what my name was...i hesitated....then told him "matthew".....and he asked what my last name was i hesitated again... "ohrenberg", then he asks how to spell it and it just shot out of my mouth "whats it matter?!"

he asked how many lasers i had in stock and i told him none because i don't keep the parts for the 200mw laser on hand, that i would just order the parts once he pays for it.......cause he was talking about buying 10 of them......we got off the phone....and i checked the zen cart's "who's online" tool........and i saw his host name.... it was blah-blah.fda.gov

well.......this may be the end of my laser days as i don't feel like getting huge fines or jail for that matter......
kind of sucks though since i was just laid off.......i was relying on this extra money alot.

He's just a interested buyer who wants lots of lasers who just HAPPENS to be a part of the FDA? Maybe? Possibly? Hopefully?...

People talk about paranoia like it's a bad thing.

Might be a good idea to buy an hour of a knowledgeable lawyers time for a consult.
I'm sure there are a few, probably simple, technical things you can do that can keep you and your business safe.

Lot's of people sell things they normally couldn't by branding their items as "kits"; even if the only thing the customer assembles is the batteries.
 
I gave him call and got a voice mail. I'm going to send a email just to try to help. let's confirm %100 this guy called and not someone who knows how to fake phone numbers (like me). I learned how in order to check on an ex...  :-[

I'm sending him an email, just a simple one asking if he called me (you) and wanted 10 lasers. I'll state I don't sell those but I wanted to confirm I received a call about that subject. I hope this helps. I'm real paranoid about pranksters so we as might as well know for sure. I was scammed BADLY once I lost over $300 so you have to watch.

I'd only sell here Mohrenberg if I were you and I hope you don't stop selling because of this. When I have some money saved I want some of your lasers too. I liked that offer you just had up!

I thought that the FDA only cared about fully assembled lasers and not laser modules. Couldn't you just continue to sell the modules?
 
thats probably what i'll do.....

sell the module, along with an unopened flashlight and 2 rechargeable batteries along with simple instructions on assembly.

By the looks of it I'm guessing it would give them a 404 error when they try to access the site.

haha, thats like trying hide behind a lamp post when the police walk past.

its not going to work and is only going to make you look more suspicious.
 
do i just add it to th index page?
zencart has so many pages it'd be difficult to add it to all of em.
i never got past html....so i'm not familiar with php......
 
The FDA is an American agency responsible for American food and drug safety (among other things). Wicked Lasers is in China.
