Wow that is one kickass build you've got there. As soon as I get some money I think you'll be the person I'll be buying my next laser from. :)

Thanks, to be honest, the 14500 configuration didn't even dawn on me until i was taking the pictures haha, it happened by pure accident.

Haha wow! What an opportune accident. :p

I'm pretty new here, so maybe this is a dumbask question, but looking at the pictures, it would seem that this unit could be supplied with two heads? One each for the PHR and LOC? Just for those of us who can't decide, or are looking for more value. If possible, what might the price be for a combo like that? Or would it be better to just buy two units?

Also, what is the focusing like with the scalloped bevel?

I think I broke my ? key with this post.

Re: FS: 100mW Blu-ray, 240mW Red 2xAA/1x14500 host

The pictures are just about this laser model, you can then choose to put a PHR or a LOC on it ;)

Getting 2 heads would mean getting 2 diodes, 2 modules and unless you want to solder and desolder, 2 drivers. This is just about the 70% of the laser total cost, so better buy 2 units :D

Albert

That's cool. How long until they are in stock? And do the scalloped bevels interfere with the focusing ring?

Re: FS: 100mW Blu-ray, 240mW Red 2xAA/1x14500 host

scalloped bevels

I don't know any of these words. Could you explain me? (Forgive my english, I'm Spanish)

Yours,
Albert

focusing isn't hindered in any way. I'm hoping to have them ready tomorrow assuming teh flex drives arrive. I'm only going to keep 1 or 2 on hand at a time.

I've got 19 total, but will just ordered the flex drives as they're needed.

Sorry, Albert, partly my mistake. What I meant to say was scalloped bezel.
The bezel is the front ring of the light and scalloping is the scooped out "tactical look" on the front of the light, making it better(?) for striking as a weapon.

And never apologize for your english, you do far better than I ever would on a spanish forum.

What kind of duty cycle will these have?

Re: FS: 100mW Blu-ray, 240mW Red 2xAA/1x14500 host

the PHR will have an unlimited duty cycle, as they simply don't generate much heat at 120mA.

The LOC on the other hand should probably be kept to under 3 minute cycles.

my rule of thumb is: if you feel it getting warm, shut it off.

These are pretty decent sized sinks, they'll get the job done.

I hope you'll have these around for a little while. I was all set to get 1? 2? and then I got an offer I couldn't refuse for a prebuilt pocket mini. By next month my wife should be calmed down enough so I can spend some more money. Besides, it'll be Christmas then! Gad, I hope I don't set the tree on fire.

Speaking of which, nice to meet another fellow EMT. I was the second EMT on my department, the first got his as a part-time volunteer firefighter. When they first started the program (1970's) I challenged the test and kept the certification for the rest of my 30 year career. We ran both Engine 6 and Rescue 1, which was a no-cost city ambulance until the early 90's, when we went to Rescue/Recovery and the local hospitals took over transportation.

Annnyyywwaayy...now retired, only so many kopeks in the babooshka, one pricey toy at a time. Next month!
