Blu ray laser project

Ok fellas ive got a blu ray drive from a laptop and plenty of cells and bateries. Ive got a soldering iron, some money, a few basic tools and some time.

Is it possible to build something outta that stuff ?

Start reading the forums, all of your answers are here. If you don't know if you have a driver, then neither do I.

Your off to a great learning experience... And once you learn how to build a laser properly, you will find out that it is very easy to do!

But there is a learning curve that we all had to go through. There are many tips and tutorials in the 'tutorials and help' section.

I've got several kits that will make it easier too... Most or the threads serve as good tutorials even if you don't want the kit:

i think the laptop BR diode is 3.6mm.you will need a custom module to put it in.i've seen some days ago someone made some modules for 3.6mm diodes.
