Beam shots..

Got a new digital camera and have been playing. It's a 10mp samsung D103 not a profesional camera like proctor, uses but i'm happy with it as it was a late birthday present form my dad. So here's a beam shot for my DL 125

Which pointer are you using?
Just a technical question as well, why do pictures with a close focus on the beam make it look like "yarn". The light almost looks woven - is that dust?

Yes, dust particles swirling in air currents during the time of exposure. If the exposure were shorter you would see specks instead of lines/curves. If the exposure were very long, they would blend and it would look more like a beam.

My pointer is a DL 125mw thanks for the tips guys this is new to me taking shots of lasers & is quite hard. I'm only good at astrophotography. Also i'm gonna have to resize the pics to post them here. Like this one here i've just downloaded a bit of freeware to resize after i posted this.

just curious, why do u have so many stickers and why do u put 2 on ur laser ?
(im very confused, r people supposed to have stickers)

Dragon lasers were really kind when i asked for some spares so i went over the top and stuck a few on my tripods and lasers.

HA ! I was JUST gonna post that ! I think you need a few more stickers, Lee - I saw an empty spot on the end near the battery cover ! LOL
