Re: atlasnova   high spec lasers

There is no High Spec lasers page. However, the guy at Atlas Nova is a cool guy to talk to, so give him a call. He'll explain it to you.

Their "astronomy grade" laser is actually very impressive, one of the best deals out there. It's quite a bit more laser than what is described on the web page. Mine arrived at 43mw, and I understand that is pretty much the average for those units. I tweaked the alignment by turning the diode and got it up to 67mw (50-55 average). No pot mod or resistor swaps. Had it over a year and it still runs perfect.

I got a stock 40.6mW unit.  Stable, high quality laser.  Arnold tests every laser before shipping and his service is second to none.  Companies like NOVA (also excellent) had to have taken customer service lessons from Atlasnova.

However, to purchase one you gotta be over 18 and have a good reason to buy one.   Since these are class IIIb units, he won't just sell one to anyone.

His units are mostly 50mW and under. This is not the place to go for a serious burning unit.

Bottom line: Great product, great service, strongly recommended if you need a mid-powered laser.

From what I understand, 20-40mW is actually the normal range. I ordered two >30mWs when they were on sale for $80 a while back and got two ~35mW units. They're quite pricey for the power, but are my most trust/reliable/highest quality pen-size lasers.

Arnold is a great guy, Atlasnova is A+ in my book, second only to Optotronic's Jack IMHO.
