Anyone tried this 5mw military laser pointer?






I actually have one of theses for a wail now. However mine was order from a different ebay seller:

The laser is 38mW on my Ophir LPM.

11mW is IR. "Tested threw my Green blocking goggles"

The Laser I got which i dont like , it starts of bright then dims in a split second once you press the button. I think the laser is over Driven. I think they are using a 200mW or 300mW 808nm diode to pump.

For such power the laser host gets warm. Which i did not expect and leads me to think its over driven. At this power it should not be getting warm.

I woulds save the money or spend it on something a little more better If you are looking for a low Power Green laser.
 
It's a piece of shit. You're better off looking at some of the sellers in the "companies" section of the forum to find a good green laser.

Over driven means when they are driving the diode more then they should and to confirm i just check and its being driving near 130mA more then it should be.!

At 210mA it does not get any brighter after that.! Its running at 338mA.:eek:

No wonder it starts of bright then dims.! Going to turn it down.

Not worth the Head ache.
 
So what's the cheapest i can get a green laser from? can you recommend some?
