I've been looking around a bit for yellow lasers either 589,574 etc. I know a few people around here have them I just can't seem to find any rated over 10mW. I know they can be pretty expensive I've been taking a look at CNI seeing as they seem to be the only truly reliable company with yellows in higher power ranges. I know laserglow has the rigel (not interested). It can be a hand held or a lab/desktop. Basically any of you that own yellows if you could give me some guidance it would be greatly appreciated.

Buy the PGL-III-C 5mW

Mine it's >20mW :D

That's another thing I was wondering. I know 2 people (I can't remember who) had 2 yellows ordered from CNI together and one was about 100mW and the other around 80mW (I think), so I also want to find out how many mW some of these yellows are actually putting out compared to there manufacturer ratings. How much was the PGL-III-C if you don't mind me asking.

I would advise against betting on it being 'extremely overspec'. When I ordered a 1mW 589 GLP.. That's pretty much exactly what I got. At least while it worked at all.

I'm not expecting "really over spec" Im really just trying to find all the reliable sources that carry yelllows and compare

Pretty much all the yellows originate from CNI one way or the other. Your choices are CNI, Dragonlasers(which resells CNI) and Laserglow(which resells CNI)

It's funny that you say that because I was thinking the same exact thing about a half an hour ago lol. Yea basically the only reliable companies selling yellows all source from CNI. Well I guess my best bet is to go straight to the source.

yeah straight to the source is most likely your best bet. but if something goes wrong you have to ship to china and deal with all that @$#@# with laserglow its canada and they have exceptional service. but with LG it will cost more.

just some stuff to ponder

i love the word ponder quite cool :p

Yea this is basically where I'm at a cross road. In the end I think I'm going to end up going with LG for the customer service, the fact that they're not in china, and also the fact that they're not in china. Also the fact that they aren't in china is plus.

lol over the past few months i've been dealing with china a lot and waiting 10 days for something to ship and then 2-3 weeks for arrival is getting old really fast. Most of the time there isn't really a choice but in this case there is. LG has some of the best quality laser equipment available, great customer service before and most importantly AFTER making a purchase and receiving the item. Did I mention that they aren't in china?

i mean remember dont fool yourself they are a CNI re seller but they are not in china :p

I hear LG has far better QC than CNI, I hope that to be true.

My PGL died after 2 weeks.

My 589nm pen rattles and occasionally takes a few smacks to get running.

I know but thats great considering CNI is pretty much top of the line and LG has quality control standards for everything they receive from CNI. If LG gets something from CNI that isn't up to spec as far as output, beam specs etc they have no problem sending it back and telling them it's no good and CNI will eat it. If there's a problem with my laser I would much rather send it back to canada instead of china.

Yea that's what I'm saying. When a company orders from CNI the company can dictate what level of quality control is going to be required and CNI will fabricate the order up to the required specifications even if those specifications are of higher quality than what CNI would sell to you and I, and thats one of the huge reasons I like LG. I could have gotten my 2.5W 532 from CNI a bit cheaper but I went with LG because of there quality control standards, customer service and location.
