With this battery I did all my testing on the breadboard, the pre assembly testing of circuit board etc, I've popped about 50 baloons, lit about 50 matches and the battery is still measuring 7.3V. If it keeps holding a charge like this, I might not ever need to charge the battery!!!

I am using a triton electronic charger for my radio control stuff, it is designed for LiPo, lithium ion, lead acid, NiMh, NiCad and has a heat sensor as well. I just made a lead that will attatch to the charger and has the male connector to fit the battery connector

Get them hooked on lasers early they can spend$$$ for the rest of thei life!!

I figured I'd do a box one for my first try. It works great, burns matches instantly at about 5 feet. I decided to go with a 7.2v lithium camcorder battery.

Is there any problem using a 6.8uF 35v cap? It should provide enough protection for any spikes we would deal with. I have a couple around and they would fit right into the tube, my can cap doesnt fit. Thanks for all the help so far, I should have my box laser done in the next day or two!! Ken

I know my calculations are correct according to ohms law full open pot is 1.25 / 4.3 ohm resistor = 290 actual reading = 282 looks perfect My concern was that I was putting more than 3 volts through and that I my damage the LD but I should be fine with the settings I have turned the pot so...

I plan on waiting!! nothing to be in a hurry about.

Should I just wire it up and hope for the best ???

It shouldn't matter cause if I was running fresh 4 AA's id be putting 3.2v into it as well
