I have an X-125 rated at 140 mW average and have found that, one it really depends on the match, and two balloon popping is all about steadiness and distance. I don't think theres anything wrong, you may be expecting 100 mW performance out of a 75 mW laser, and those 25 mWs make a big difference.

I was so pleased with my X-125 that I ordered an X-50 as a gift for a friend. I couldn't believe the specs when I got it, 79.9 mW peak and 74.5 mW average.
