    building a waterproof 445nm?

Non-focusing as a sacrifice for waterproof kind of sucks the large gnarly one. Ive checked out those waterproofs on rayfoss, but which one is indeed the NEW waterproof? I see one that is very popular, odicforce sells the same, Dino direct, etc, but theres another (it looks the same as what i...

    building a waterproof 445nm?

Thanks very much :) Always liked the look of that host, Ive seen a pic of the waterproof enabling heatsink somewhere iirc, what are my options regarding the driver and lens assembly? Cheers :D

    building a waterproof 445nm?

Id love to know more about how to build my own 445nm laser with a decent waterproof housing, I've done some digging but only really arrived at those already built, such as the rayfoss and o-like lasers (which some people have problems with, unexpected low power, leaks, etc). I'd love to just...

    WATERPROOF green lasers?

whats the output like on the rayfoss? i'd much rather have one running a 150mw o-like module, waterproof host, but im a complete amateur when it comes to making hosts etc. EDIT: i dont literally mean fashioning a host from a billet of aluminum i mean like using a torch body....

    WATERPROOF green lasers?

saw that one, but they look SUSPICIOUSLY similar to rayfoss' models

FS: Mini Mag Green Kit! - Very Nice!

how much power loss would we be talking if a maglite clear plastic front 'lens' was inserted with the supplied o-ring to your diy green kit, and is the switch waterproof? ive already done this and everything fits perfect, ordering the module soon, but unsure whether to put it in water...

    WATERPROOF green lasers?

besides rayfoss, whom ive heard bad things about, and their site is down (and identical looking lasers can be found on many different sits..... hmm fishy), where can i get a good quality WATERPROOF green laser of at least 150 milliwats? i'll take a diy kit from the forum if anyone has anything...

FS: Mini Mag Green Kit! - Very Nice!

looks great, but is it possible to waterproof this kit to a few feet like the maglites themselves? the front end, tail cap and barrel ends? im always scared of water messing up my nice shiny lasers. any info jayrob?

FS: DIY Green Kit! Host, Heatsink - Easy Assembly!

Hi jayrob. love the kit, thanks for the extra bits. I STILL havent got a module yet. For anyone who wants to use the glass front peice as well as the heatsink, you need to file down the ridge on the front heatsink and a little off the back so it sits flush with the front. you may need to adjust...

Focus and Filter a green laser.

Nah you said the ability defines the laser. It's established that unless the laser creates enough ir, that IS focused, to damage the eye, then yes, it should have an IR filter. Unless the laser burns without it, it's not so necessary. Widely distributed IR is not harmful to the eye at the...

    FS: >110mW PHR, >140mW 4x & >170mW 6x Blu-Rays

Re: FS: >110mW PHR, >140mW 4x & >170mW 6x Blu-Rays this thread got seriously awkward. lots of random stuff being said...? I think im just gonna leave it till the 250 mW blu rays are ready.

Focus and Filter a green laser.

i had my doubts, ive seen a co2 laser burning like pinpoint. if the laser is powerful enough to damage the eye, IR or no, then wouldnt it be ok to just be sensible with it, and NOT get it in your eye? even with an IR filter, enough mW of any colour will be trouble ??

Focus and Filter a green laser.

last i heard, it cant be collimated well and pisses in all directions like a torch spits light hither and thither, so the chance of collimated ir damaging the eye is slim. im pretty sure many lasers would be made illegeal if it was so dangerous. thats what i heard from a few people on here...

    FS: >110mW PHR, >140mW 4x & >170mW 6x Blu-Rays

Re: FS: >110mW PHR, >140mW 4x & >170mW 6x Blu-Rays igort charges a higher amount (200 and something dollars), but the built quality is much higher. I'm also quite new to the biz, but it seems green has more burning power per mW than red light, as it is absorbed more into most surfaces...

    Re: FS: >110mW PHR, >140mW 4x & >170mW 6x Blu-Rays that's the plan. 450+mw green focusable. ;)

Re: FS: >110mW PHR, >140mW 4x & >170mW 6x Blu-Rays are copper heatsinks better than aluminum? if so... HINT GEE wouldnt it be GREAT if IgorT gave an option for a nice copper heatsink? yeah thatd be AWESOME! /HINT say... whats better for a heatsink? what makes aluminum the metal of choice...

Re: FS: >110mW PHR, >140mW 4x & >170mW 6x Blu-Rays The sexy beast you would be refferring to would be a sexual tyrannosaurus. Hey, IgorT, make sure that you let us know if you DO decide to bail on the 6x diodes. though this would be a shame, as their full potential hasn't been realised. with...
