Review: 510nm Direct Green Diodes / Build Photos (DGH-N1, DGH-N2)

So, errr, what's up Doc? :shhh:

    NEW LOC Laser diode review.

A diode's wavlength is proportional to drive current, not just temperature. This characteristic could be employed to protect the facets at high current. The new 500mW mitsu's do the same thing.

    Blu-Ray Laser Emitting Other Colors...

It's more than likely a fluorescence generated in the lense, reflected back from and then focused by the lense.

Open notice to all hesc photonics buyers

I was wondering where the f my diode had gotten to. My RGB has been sat half stripped since before christmas waiting for a new 808. :cryyy: Today I recieved a package with some mineral rocks and a note about a car crash in it, I was scratching my head wondering WTF they were, then I stumbled...

    635nm vs 650nm

    50mW @ 532nm = 30.2lm 1W @ 635nm = 148.2lm Apparent brightness.

    635nm vs 650nm

    1W of 660nm = approx 42lm 1W of 635nm = approx 148lm apparent brightness, so 3.5 times brighter.

RGB color levels for proper color mixing (CNI)

DZ's colour board is not for adjusting white balance, it's to correct the different speeds at which dpss lasers modulate, hence correcting the colour where beams fringe together. I've attached the setup instructions that explain it.

    445nm blue diodes

It runs on its internal battery, it uses a blue diode, it is bright, it can display a full movie on a single charge. Here is a video of it in operation YouTube - CES 2009: Microvision SHOW WX Pico Projector Display Technology Predicted cost $60 as part of a phone $200 stand alone...

Point a laser at fully blind eye?

Unfuckinbelieveable. The very fact that this thread is here on the internet puts laser ownership another step closer to being fond memories. If I were making a case to government against laser ownership; reading this thread aloud would be my trump card.

    445nm blue diodes

The spec sheet says 442nm, I've never heard of a 442nm DPSS? Also, this page says it can show a full movie using its internal battery http://www.microvision.com/showwx/specs.html

    WTB 1Watt 532nm or more

Assuming 473 blue, 532 green and 635 red: Then 1.8 x R 1.0 x G 1.5 x B is more or less perfect white. However; as Phillip said at that kind of power 445 direct injection blue is a better choice, You would only need 1 Watt of 445 to match your green (less expensive too).

    445nm blue diodes

The problem with this method is focus, minature laser projectors are being developed as focus is not an issue and brightness is far better.

    10W 473nm!?!?

It's 10mW, it says "Class3B" on the data sticker.
