No, a Playstaion 2 diode will not work for burning. You will have to buy a burner diode or High Def diode. As for building it from scratch would nearly imposible unless you have random junk laying around that you can make a driver with and a module to house it along with a heatsink.

I flipped it around and it puts little black marks on a blanket and smoke comes up but it will not light a white tipped match with a cardboard stem. I will try cuting out the hole to allow more light in. Thank you.

Ive got the pot jacked way up and the lense as focused as possible on my PHR 803T but it won't burn and I'm sad. EDIT: The beam is warm to the touch and my DMM reads it at a max of 90.6 degrees F.

Here is what's up. I've made a testloader with 5, 10 ohm resistors making it 2 ohm. So in theory I should just multiply the out put on the meter by 2 since it is double resistance. But when I do this the lowest ma I can get is 230 and the high range bridge is not solderd. What is wrong with this?

My flexdrive is hooked up to a radioshack special 3v lithium Cr123 and no matter how much I turn the damn pot it will push a minimum of 230 ma. I'm setting it up for a PHR 803T, what's up with that?
