MXDL mod for Super Bright Flashlight!

Alright, it turns out that in the process of soldering the ground, the red wire pulled out of the controller board. After re-soldering it the flashlight worked great. Good thing since I ordered five of them. Anyways, thanks a lot for your help and patience. Oh, and the mod is awesome after you...

MXDL mod for Super Bright Flashlight!

I checked the continuity and I get a continuous signal from the outer ring to the black wire. The weird thing is that I still get a continuous signal if it is not grounded. But, it is not continuous from the outer ring to the red wire. Can you think of anywhere else there might be a problem?

MXDL mod for Super Bright Flashlight!

I've managed to run the circuit with a battery housing, and I'm getting 6V throughout the circuit, but when I assemble the flashlight, I get nothing. What do you mean when you say that the connection should be continuous from the case to the negative wire. I have the red and black wires from the...

MXDL mod for Super Bright Flashlight!

It looks like I'm pulling 1 ohm from the case to the negative lead, but I'm still losing voltage across the positive and negative leads. I've got the Q5 led soldered to the two leads, and have ensured that it's a good connection. I'm pretty sure that my problem is with grounding the outer ring...

MXDL mod for Super Bright Flashlight!

Thanks for the quick reply. It's the 5 mode controller from the beginning of the post. The instructions just say to squeeze a wire between the controller and the casing to ground it to the outer ring. I didn't actually soder it yet, but I'm sure that it's connecting the outer ring of the...

MXDL mod for Super Bright Flashlight!

Hi, I was wondering if someone could help me with a problem I've been having. When I ground the outer ring on the controller, I lose all voltage across the wires. If I leave the ring ungrounded and attach my multimeter across the red wire and the case, I get a 6V reading. Am I grounding the...
