    FAP Laser Module Columniation

I am at a loss for using any glass rods? Also I have some glass fiber bundles that are used in the industrial are of light beam breakage and control. I tried send the beam through the bundle and it appears to focus the bean narrowly out depending on the distance of the output to the fiber.

    FAP Laser Module Columniation

Would you recommend using a cylindrically shaped glass rod to help with the focusing of the beam?

    Fac/sac 40 watt burning

Actually it is a combination lens with a sac lens at the other end etc. So what diameter type of glass rod would you recommend or is there a calculation based on several factors?

    Fac/sac 40 watt burning

So i dont really need extra fiber knife edged type configuration?

    Fac/sac 40 watt burning

As you can see in the image I attached the lens combo to the 40watt die and the output of a width wise configuration. Should I consider glueing down an array of fiber optic fibers cleaved so I can direct the beam with more control? If I do this an aspheric lens would be eliminated as well

    Fac/sac 40 watt burning

So I had to create another thread as I could not reply on my other thread maybe it was a glitch on this page or what? The lenses is set on the die and I am able to get a burn as you can see on the image. This burn happens when I am almost on top of the lens combo and not when I at a distance...

    FAP Laser Module Columniation

This thread appears to be little in the direction I am going with my setup. Red you are aware of my setup of FAC/SAC lens setup etc. I noticed that it burns a piece of paper either upper or lower depending on how close i approach the lens that is mounted on my 40Watt diode laser. I will provide...

Fac/ sac lens attachment to 40watt diode laser

Would using a Plastic aspheric lens be affected by the IR energy passing through it? Would it melt? I am waiting on the arrival of the rectangular Aspheric lens to see if 1. Improves the beam profile and 2. Can it handle the power? We will have to wait and see when I receive it and will post...

Fac/ sac lens attachment to 40watt diode laser

Here is some images of the setup of the TEC and its parts to attach the die to the cooling structure. I may in the near future add another layer of TEC as I don’t think it is cooling enough to keep it cool for longer periods of experimenting.

Fac/ sac lens attachment to 40watt diode laser

These are closeups of the fac/sac lens being attached to the die. I used hysol c epoxy which is temperature stable and relatively clean and doesn’t out gas as other epoxies.

Fac/ sac lens attachment to 40watt diode laser

These are the images of the setup of the attachment of the fac/sac lens. The jig was made from microscope parts to car parts and a printer I took apart for the stamped metal pieces that could fit and hold the lens while I tested it.

Fac/ sac lens attachment to 40watt diode laser

So I have had this laser unit CS- mount 975nm 600 um emitter. I was able to find a fac/sac lens combo to try my hand at fixturing this lens on the die. Standard package for the die is CS-975-040W-65. I was somewhat successful at attaching the lens with a jig setup as I will show at the end. I...

Help with LPM wiring db25 pinout PM5200 to attach Thermopile sensor

I noticed that the Sensor head is a coherent and not a molectron. I am assuming that it works fine with the meter etc. I think that it is essential about the color coding of the wires going to the sensor etc. Actually cant wait to see where the color coded wires are going to the thermopile and...

Help with LPM wiring db25 pinout PM5200 to attach Thermopile sensor

Oh wow thanks this helps alot for the visuals etc. How ever those leads are color coded and was wondering which leads connect to thermopile and i also assume that some of the leads are connected to a possible thermistor etc.. do you have access to taking photos of them head portion with the...

Help with LPM wiring db25 pinout PM5200 to attach Thermopile sensor

Hey thats great!!!! I have been busy trying to backwards engineer the possible connections of the sensor etc. I know that there is a 8K eeprom in the db25 connecter shroud. I have some ideas of how it is connected but not 100%. Perhaps you can help out by cross referencing what i have in terms...

Help with LPM wiring db25 pinout PM5200 to attach Thermopile sensor

I have been busy re-engineering this meter and possible probe connection variations . I have discovered various aspects of this meter and the reading procedures of the head and what I should do in regards of using this meter and building a probe to connect to the db25 connector and use this...

Help with LPM wiring db25 pinout PM5200 to attach Thermopile sensor

In addition I think that most of these professional systems use a voltage conditioning circuit inside the thermopile sensor head. This circuit most likely involves an Sensitive low voltage Op amp instrumentation level to amplify voltage less than 10mV range. I also think that there is a...
