    Jokes thread!

There was a doctor, a priest and an engineer playing golf. Ahead of them there were some people playing very bad and very slow, and they had to wait. The priest asked the caddy "Who are those guys?" The caddy said "Many years ago there was a fire in the main office of the golf club, and...

    How to cool a 40W CO2 laser?

Now that´s an engineering approach... Unfortunately, I´m about to give up my CO2 laser - it´s too big to mess around. Fortunately, I think I´ll switch to diode laser; I´ve seen some 5W, 10W diodes. Hopefully they will fit my needs for 1/10th of the space. Actually, I think they cost almost...

    How to cool a 40W CO2 laser?

I intend to buy a tube, PSU etc. and build my laser cutter. But how do I cool it??? 1) How many watts will I have to deal? In other words: a 40W CO2 laser tube is like a electric water heater of [___] watts. Surely much more than 40W... 2) How many liters/hour should I pump? 3) How...

How to control MYJG-40 power supply? (CO2 40W)

Yes, all 3 terminals of pot are connected to PSU, one of them is labelled "5V", so... I´ll keep it safe and just use a pot! I don´t like things that have 5V on one end and 30KV on the other end.. About PWM, I thought later that it´s not good, it is better to buy a PSU with analog control...

How to control MYJG-40 power supply? (CO2 40W)

Thanks for reading.. I intend to build my own CO2 laser cutter/engraver, and use the MYJG40 power supply. I saw that it has input for a 5K variable resistor to control power output. I also saw that you have to "ground" 2 inputs: Interlock loop / J3 (connect P+ to G) and Test / J4 (connect K...
