I was going to remove the lm317t and toss the rest of this power supply aside but i thought maybe id share here and see if anyone will have any better ideas. I'll include some pictures of board as well as an image of the power supply circuit diagram that i pieced together from a pdf of a jigsaw...

:anyone: ? couple more questions. Is it common that these type of laser housings use the casing as the positive connection? is there a tiny circuit board inside? Don't want to destroy the thing just yet so for now I think I'll just try to take off the prism and play with some other lenses for it.

I took this laser out of the laser assembly of an old broken chop saw (Miter saw) the assembly was basically an oversized washer on the retaining bolt for the blade. I cannot find any information about the laser diode/host inside.:tired::can: Some information is printed on the host in black...
