Are there any hosts like this?

I'd like to find a good host, with the following: 1) Key back button, and side thumb button. 2) Ability to input code to allow powering (yeah, OCD safe), with #2, I guess #1 isn't required. Because of the obvious danger of lasers, I want to make one that is absolutely foolproof (within...

    Wicked Laser host?

Are there any good hosts with key button or other security measures?

Help me put together a laser test bench

Forgot to mention, I already have * Laser safety glasses (2 pair, 190-540 OD4, 190-540nm and 800-1700nm OD5) * a DC Power supply, with CC and CV capability (0-30V, 0-3A) * a DVM of course. * soldering station Actually, 6 and 7 were a last minute addition. I was initially only thinking 1 to...

Help me put together a laser test bench

I started out on my project, looking for an IR laser of more power than what I can buy for my rifles. Then, got sucked into the whole laser field. ;) I'm an electrical engineer but have worked very little with lasers. So, in that regards I'm a total newbie. I'm also of retirement age, so it...

    Single Mode Laser Diodes

Another useful thing about Night Vision is that it can be used for taking photos of stars. This one isn't optimal but illustrates the concept. I should have used a tripod, instead of handheld.

    Howdy!

Bet that's a pretty penny. I have to avoid looking, to avoid buying. Hard to pass up something I like. I love lever guns. I was in my favorite toy store and spotted these 1948 and 1950, Winchesters. Now they are mine. ;)

    Single Mode Laser Diodes

Off_Topic but one of my favorite subjects. ;) In the short term, your lifetime, I don't think it makes much difference. And I do keep some magazines loaded at all times. But I never store them permanently loaded, for one very good reason. What was a working magazine, when you loaded it...

    Single Mode Laser Diodes

I only have about 1000 rounds of the green tip stuff. Picked most of it up when I was just looking for 5.56 of anything. Can't have too much ammo. However, remember the saying, "you really only own what you can carry at a full run" :) That's why they invented shovels:)

    Howdy!

One of those is on my toy list. I'm trying to decide if I want one for weapon mounting or helicopter mounting. There is a new DJI FLIR camera coming, that mounts on my Inspire 1 PRO. I haven't seen the price on that sucker but it's nice. Allows flying a drone in total darkness. ;)

    Single Mode Laser Diodes

I hesitate to say, since 1) Haven't thought this all the way through in detail and 2) Might say something really stupid. :) So, let's just say, as good as I can make, reasonably. For a comparison, this is the IR spec of the Steiner DBAL-D2, that I currently have. If it's anywhere near the...

    Single Mode Laser Diodes

Another thing we have in common, and another way to check me out. KC7VE (Advanced) and on QRZ.com. Mostly on IRLP nowadays. I'm looking for targeting (i.e. a sighting mechanism). I guess illumination might be the next thing. But just looking to extend the range. Why? Why not? I'm looking...

    Howdy!

I've been considering getting one of the Polaris RZR Turbos, for a couple of years. Not quite as aggressive as the one in the video perhaps but fun nonetheless. Great video! They have finally made it possible to make them street legal in WA. Not that I would use one on the street, but on...

    Single Mode Laser Diodes

Well, I do tend to draw fire, regardless, especially from the left. Kind of outspoken, if that's not obvious. ;) Check me out on Twitter sometime. ;) I go by @ipscone ipscone being a reference to IPSC. I used to shoot competitively, from 1986 to about 1996. I have a 3 digit life...

    Single Mode Laser Diodes

Understand completely. You will notice my email, if you can see it, ends in msdsite.com. That is my domain. You can also search for ipscone. EVERY instance of that on the internet is me. ;) I also have a couple of websites but don't know if publishing them is a no-no. I'll send you a PM...

    Single Mode Laser Diodes

Fair enough. I've been on lots of forums and had to deal with banned members. I'm not sure it's actually "illegal" to sell to civilians, as in laws that make them illegal. More of a business license thing. It's kind of like the new drone regulations. It used to be legal to fly drones...

    Howdy!

Great deal! :D Yeah, should have said $6K. I have a PVS-14 Gen 3 with ITT Pinnacle, Steiner DBAL-D2 and some Armasight stuff. Would be a pretty good deal if I could have gotten it for $6 though. ;) Here are a couple of NV videos Another one This is another of the PVS-14

You mean "you". I have no problem what others have said. You are not preachy. You are jackassery. I think that is what is obvious in your replies. But no matter. Every forum has them, reputation notwithstanding. I found a couple. One was a 405nm on the DTR site, that was listed at single...

    Howdy!

Thanks, love Jeeps Red: 2009 Rubicon (2 door) Silver: 2008 Rubicon Unlimited Sold the Silver one last summer and regret it. Now looking for an unlimited 2012 or 2013, to replace it. This is what it looked like. Put $25K in mods in 2014.

    Howdy!

Thought I already posted here. Guess not. I was directed here by two sources. DTR and Survival Laser. I became interested in lasers, when I got into night vision. I have a long interest in firearms and weapons and recently got into night vision. I have, as part of my night vision, both...

    Single Mode Laser Diodes

Yes, google is my friend. I found a 1W diode for $290 But the point of my post was to SEE what others have done, as I stated in my first sentence. I do already. Have multiple of safety glasses going into far infrared. One is * 190-540nm * 800-1700nm The other is OD4 and covers 190-540nm...
