Indeed overkill. But yes I forgot you need the 30kHz step rate which the 328's are capable of. Also jitter free pulses!!:yh:

Which is exactly why I said about 405. There is UVA, UVB, and UVC UVA is 315-380, UVB is 280-315, and UVC is 100-280. All of which are not visible. The closest visible I think he is after would be a 405 blu ray diode.

Well a quick search yielded me some pretty awesome results. I came across a member here named DTR. He sells the bare diodes. https://sites.google.com/site/dtrlpf/home/diodes UV would be about 405nm. The 16X BDR-209 Bluray Diode would probably give you around 1 watt and 650 mA of current.

I would have to say yes but like you said know your current limits. I am assuming you have capacitors in order to prevent spikes. Depending on the size of the program you could even get away with an Atmega168.

    Just wanted to say hello

Hello all I am new here and wanted to introduce myself. I absolutely love lasers. I have an extensive background in electronics, programming, and networking. I can pretty much write a program for anything you can think of. Married with three lovely children. This forum looks pretty amazing. Well...
