Silicone dielectric compound for thread lubrication

dielectric, insulating material or a very poor conductor of electric current. When dielectrics are placed in an electric field, practically no current flows in them because, unlike metals, they have no loosely bound, or free, electrons that may drift through the material. Instead, electric...

Lowest possible divergence, maintaining balloon pop @ 500 meters

Yes, it is proportional $=distance, the YT video is a starting reference. Read and become knowledgeable so you can put your $ to best use - optics or mW. This thread is analogous to the Chinese shooting black-powder rockets haphazardly into the sky 1000 years ago. And last years rocket...

Laser Genetics ND3 Flashlight 532nm green to 638nm red

I disassembled a Laser Genetics ND3 laser flashlight with a 18mw 532nm green laser, and swapped it out to more 'pleasing for the wildlife' 170mw 638nm red laser. After which there seemed to be no perceived increase in illumination even @ 10X the power(visually it was less illumination &...

Is there a mechanical pushbutton switch with a burst feature?

And I thought the hard part of this exercise was going to be how to adjust the length of the pulse... After buying a Mechanical Pulse Momentary Pushbutton Switch off the shelf somewhere.

Is there a mechanical pushbutton switch with a burst feature?

Thanks, been looking for that vid for hours. I've been contacting switch manufacturers, so far "Does not exist" in a hardware solution.

Is there a mechanical pushbutton switch with a burst feature?

I'm just trying to pulse the laser on&off quickly(no particular duration) automatically and without any extra circuit. Less than a few amps. I thought thru the history of electronics, someone, somewhere, had the need to instantly close/reset/initiate/jump a circuit and a push button switch was...

Is there a mechanical pushbutton switch with a burst feature?

Thanks, Ah, closer... Piezo pulse momentary... But is there a strictly mechanical version of this? Maybe a push button pulse momentary? 500ma isn't going to pulse a few amps without additional circuitry.

Is there a mechanical pushbutton switch with a burst feature?

Not having any luck here. Anyone? Even the proper switch type description would help. I need a push button switch. Finger pressure closes normally open contacts, then immediately the contacts open, even if finger pressure has not been released.

NEW TOOL: Calculate Relative Brightness (of Wavelengths in nm)

:gj: Thx, That helps a lot!

Most expensive laser you have ever bought?

This is embarrassing. My first and original 5mW red laser pointer, back in the 1980's, I had to be the first to have one. When they first became available they were well over $599. It still runs on some weird camera battery and I will never take the loss on ever selling it. :) In all it's...

Is there a mechanical pushbutton switch with a burst feature?

What I'm looking for is a 'mechanical' momentary pushbutton switch that snaps back and returns to the 'off' position automatically when pushed and actuated. I just don't know the proper search term for it. Maybe a 'test' pushbutton switch?

    Laser Genetics ND3 Subzero Disassembly

I played a propane torch around the threaded area of the body and used welding gloves(and sheet rubber for grip). It stays goopy and hard to turn, final cleanup was with lacquer thinner. I tried penetrating oil and it helps to free up the threads after you get it started. You might try a...

NEW TOOL: Calculate Relative Brightness (of Wavelengths in nm)

I could use this program right now! I just tore down a Laser Genetics ND3 laser flashlight with a 18mw 532nm green laser, and swapped it out to more 'pleasing to the wildlife' 170mw 638nm red laser. There seems to be no perceived increase in illumination @ 10X the power. How much more power do I...

Darkest nonflamable material you can buy?

Looks similar, difference is the indirect lighting and my LED flash @ 6 inches. :)

    High power needed - why?

Why to pop a balloon at 500 meters of course. http://laserpointerforums.com/f44/lowest-possible-divergence-maintaining-balloon-pop-500-meters-92425.html

Darkest nonflamable material you can buy?

Carbon Fiber Felt(Top Secret Steiner Stuff), but it's pricey and it works. I've used it on Acetylene welding, silver soldering and brazing for thermal shielding. I can used a flame on one side turn it bright orange and not feel it on the other side of it's 1/4 inch thickness. It's a little on...

    High power needed - why?

Hi clansey, Just saw the UK flag, I didn't mean anything personal about that 1770's incident. :) Unfortunately legislation in the US usually gets the better of our freedoms. But initially things here start out and grow unfettered at a fast rate. And that adjustable power tailcap would have to...
  18. Phased Array

    High power needed - why?

Don't need a reason. Here in the United States it's known as 'Freedom', a God given, Constitutional right, all we've ever known since we've kicked the British out. MiniCooper/Suburban, .177/50BMG, .5mw/5W, apartment/McMansion, freedom of choice, and not even given a 2nd thought about here...

    Laser Genetics ND3 Subzero Disassembly

A thread for those who are wondering what's inside the Laser Genetics ND3 focus-able laser flashlight. This is the small 25mm objective model, 18mw green laser, and runs on a single cr123 battery. This device is NOT meant to be disassembled, copious amounts of red loctite are used on all the...

Self-Defense ~ Bear with me for a moment!

Yup, In Chicago you have 2 seconds, from the car/curb to beat down, it's the 'Knockout game' and you can watch your vid later when your attacker posts it on worldstarhiphop.com. :) You can't even laser paint/intimidate your predator in that short time. They drive to nice white neighborhoods from...
