You could try cooling a 445nm diode with liquid nitrogen to achieve a lower wavelength but I think you're looking for freak diodes that are naturally low in wavelength.

Ahh makes sense, it's too bad then that no one at these diode manufacturing companies is a laser enthusiast at LPF and bring take prototypes and such into our market for more reasonable prices.

By "thermal capabilities" do you mean thermal conductivity or specific heat capacity? or both?

What's the purpose of listing that particular diode at that price? Does the manufacturing process really entail THAT much more work?
