Basically what the title says - in visibility chart 638 is a fair amount higher than 445nm higher but 2W is almost the triple amount in power. Maybe someone here has those those two lasers and can say from experience wich is brighter. Thanks in advance !

Thanks for good words ! :) Haven't really tried, in 20c room running few minutes heatsink just gets a little warm ! I used very high quality silkpads from HP Server PSU, and the module was pressed in very tightly into the heatsink !

So, yeah, turns out the laser diode is damaged too so it is end for this laser..... But I will be back - I will get a proper driver and another M140 diode. This is a good lesson NOT to use crappy Chinese drivers.... By the way, measuring laser power usng IR thermometer method it turned out...

I turned on driver without any load and measured just the volts at output, without any laser diode/

At higher than 1,30 amps the diode dimms after 3 secs, I guess this driver is faulty. Anyway, thanks for HUGE help DTR, You always help everybody haha ! Have a nice day

I think the driver is fckin doomed, Now without filtering cap it starts as previosuly but after few secs starts laser starts to flicker and diode dimms very fast. I guess diode is fine but driver is doomed

That driver is boost converter, I measured it and driver did put out 5.5 volts at output

Should I just short it with ampmeter in series ? And btw the 1000uf 10v cap across diode in okay,right ?
