Looking for a compact penstyle low power Laserpointer or custom housing

I'm looking for a low power laser with a good quality housing and a momentary sideswitch. It should be fairly small, as it's going to be used for presentation purposes. Preferably 635nm or 520nm. The closest available thing seems to be the wicked laser nano. An even closer non available example...

    Laserpointer building questions (GD300)

Yes, but those are A. not cheap. B. custom made by people from the USA. So sadly not an option.

    Laserpointer building questions (GD300)

But thats a flashlight host. Unless theres a simple trick to convert them into an Laserpointer host i don't see how that would help me. :?

That host does indeed look good. Sadly it doesnt use 18650, but i could work around that. The case doesn't seem to have a name that i could google with, does anyone know of 'real' pictures of that host?

    Laserpointer building questions (GD300)

I'm talking about everything. We have to pay 19% tax on deliveries incl. shipping > ~25EUR. There are two ways how this can go down: A. You drive to the customs office pay the 19% B. You pay DHL to handle this for you 25EUR handling fee + 19% Those two should apply to all imports from...

    Laserpointer building questions (GD300)

Problem is everything from the USA is pretty much not viable for me. Every single package that i imported from there got stuck in customs. forcing me to drive there or pay a 25EUR handling fee. I've no idea why that is. I can only assume they are told to enforce the rules harder for some...

    Laserpointer building questions (GD300)

My issue isn't the host, but the knowledge of 'what fits in, and what doesnt'

    Laserpointer building questions (GD300)

Well the limiting factor is the host, as there are only a few available, so i need to plan around the host: HOST 1 HOST 2 HOST 3 I'm also trawling the sales board, but its pretty much US only. Aside from that i don't really want to spend a fortune on this either. 1.6W 450nm Diode blue...

    Laserpointer building questions (GD300)

Will add my country. Problem is i don't want to risk importing a working pointer, our customs don't like them (germany). So building one seems to be the way to go, which is fine for me as i have all the necessary electronic/ esd equipment anyways. But what i can not do is mechanical work on...

    Laserpointer building questions (GD300)

Hi, There are two types of cheap 18650 hosts available on ebay, but i cant seem to find further infos about them. One sells as GD300 the other as GD350. I am mostly interested in the GD300 modell due to the extra safety and the side switch...

    515nm/520nm diodes & infrared

Do the 515/520nm diodes emit infrared light? As far as i understand it, they are not frequency doubled, and should therefore only emit around the 515/520nm wavelength. Is that correct? LP 515nm 532nm 1-150

DIY Thermal LPM for under $50

damn i didn't know they differ a lot :< I was only able to find one 15mm x 15mm element, all others i found were much bigger and i wanted to keep the mass as small as possible the conductor blocks are 3mm high. (34 overall) on both sides it has a 0.65mm ceramic plate (15mm x 15mm)

DIY Thermal LPM for under $50

ive never claimed that its possible to get a perfect beam. Its all about improvements. >The emitter there is the gas plasma and when you are reducing it´s size, you even get a worse divergence. my knowledge about those converge to zero. Im guessing the beam doesnt require additional lenses...

DIY Thermal LPM for under $50

this is not correct, i think (someone correct me if im wrong). The light is moving perfectly straight, but it bends at the same time. You could maybe visualize it like this. Turn this '(' by 90 degrees, and it becomes this '|' this is not a light problem, its a optical/mechanical problem. If...

DIY Thermal LPM for under $50

You could use the peltier actively to keep both sides equally warm, then measure the necessary current. I think this should give you a very good linearity. >Even photons are not traveling absolute linear through the spacetime. im not sure about which fluctuations you are speaking, but yes...

I was just trying to understand why this way, and not that way. The problem is linearity.

tyty. Im gonna think a bit longer about it, before i build my prototype. I keep you posted the main problem i see is calibration :/

ive gotta annoy you one more time (at least for now :P) The reason you use a TEC Element, instead of a cheap thermal sensor is simply that the TEC can withstand higher wattage, correct?
