    Can someone tell me what type of laser diode this is?

    I'm new at this so pretty much a noob, I ripped apart an old dvd player and founder a single diode in it, if someone could tell me what type of diode is it (whether it would be infra red or normal or something) and would it be any use in creating a laser burner, that'd be great. Thanks
