On Sale Now - The Cypreus II - A Copper Laser host by Sinner [25/25 Shipped]

Re: Presale Closed - The Cypreus II - A Copper Laser host by Sinner [25/25 Pre-Ordere My single XL arrived today too. It looks great, the fins do make it look better than is apparent in the photo. A very nice and solid host, very few scratches or dings on mine. Very happy with it so far. :)...

    New Nichia 9mm 1W 520nm diode (NDG7475T)

lol I swear no one reads the previous posts. :p

    New Nichia 9mm 1W 520nm diode (NDG7475T)

But this isn't true if taking about 1W lasers. :p

    New Nichia 9mm 1W 520nm diode (NDG7475T)

The smallest possible unit of blue is more powerful than the smallest possible unit of green (shorter wavelength vs longer wavelength). With on the order of 10^18 photons per second from a 1W 445nm laser and more from a 1W 520nm laser, the relative power of each photon seems fairly irrelevant...

    New Nichia 9mm 1W 520nm diode (NDG7475T)

Well each blue photon contains more energy but the way we measure lasers doesn't count photons but total power. So for power 1W 445nm = 1W 520nm and the 520nm is putting out more lower energy photons.

    25W laser diode schematics

10^-7 sec long pulses of 30W, at 0.1% duty cycle. :(

Anyone looking for a 488nm diode?

All sorts of biotech applications. A useful wavelength. Good for measuring the concentration of molecules that absorb well there. Also florescent markers like: Alexa Fluor® 488 And these guys think $4000 is very cheap.

What is more visible 500mw green or 2w blue

What I think of as "laser beam brightness" doesn't seem to match the CIE data very well (the tool J0SHUA linked). When comparing my 400mW 532nm to my 2W 445nm (nominal powers), both beams seem very bright. The green beam is more noticeable or brighter but the blue one looks more intense in a...

GONE! WTT - MSV4 for another host

Re: FOR SALE Handhelds and hosts +473 BW I am very interested in the 473nm tupperware labby if it is still available?

    Beam Question (532nm)

I will second what has already been said: not at all. :) At 400mW the laser is much brighter than needed and drowns out the stars you point at, even the few bright ones you can see on a street lit urban night. I would expect the amount of power that is optimal depends on the amount of...

    Beam Question (532nm)

A beam expander makes the dot more visible at range because it is smaller but it also makes the beam less visible. I have a 10x beam expander with my 400mW 532nm handheld and while the spot is a lot smaller at long ranges the beam is much less visible, 10x the diameter means 10x less power per...

405nm L.D. naked under indiscrete microscope, with good DOF (30 Photos)

Very impressive, I love seeing the hints of detail too small even for these high quality fairly high magnification images.

    Laserbtb/Skylasers "LP532 - 150mW" 2xAAA

For my most recent order from laserbtb I used the standard shipping option (Hongkong Post) and recieved my laser within 7 days (6 actually if I remember right). The HL 520 50mW is very nice. ;) This was to California not Germany of course but I hope and expect you will not have to wait too...

    Poll: Laserbtb Vs Jetlasers

The marketing material says it is for protection; beating an attacker with it. I agree the laserbtb hosts do look more professional except the stickers aren't always perfect which detracts from the effect.

    Poll: Laserbtb Vs Jetlasers

I voted for JetLasers in the poll but I also want to add that Laserbtb is much cheaper and I quite like both their PL and HL hosts; after adding in price I think this question gets complicated. I have had only good experiences with Lasersbtb's customer service, and I did have issues to work out...

    Real-Life Laser Rifle

    Real-Life Laser Rifle

I like how the "handheld" laser is a bundle of fiber optics coming out of a wall. I wonder what the fiber coupled diodes look like on the other end and what kind of cooling they use. :D We need magic batteries to make one of these in an AR-15 form factor. lol
