    Build: 445nm 1.7W Skyray

My diode is officially burning things. Yay! I think I'll go with the 18350's. I'll just save the s4 for a bigger, badder diode. Thanks for the help, DTR!

    Build: 445nm 1.7W Skyray

Update: Contacted DTR, realized to my stupidity that it requires two 18650's in series, rather than one ._. Will post updates after I get that fixed!

    Build: 445nm 1.7W Skyray

Took some multimeter tests on the battery, reported 4.2v as expected, I'm starting to think the driver/diode might be faulty. Here's some pics: The beam without lens: Driver pics: Notice the white stuff along the side of one of the board components..could that mean its heat damaged?

    Build: 445nm 1.7W Skyray

These are the batteries: Amazon.com : Ultrafire X 2-18650 2400mah 3.7v Rechargeable Batteries : General Use Batteries : Electronics I'm going to take a lunch break and drive home, see if maybe now the batteries have charged overnight it will burn.

    Build: 445nm 1.7W Skyray

I'm not sure at this point what the issue is, the lens can focus it to a pretty small dot that I would assume should be burning, could it be the fact that the batteries I bought just suck enormously? I'll check their voltage/current when I get back from work. It sounds like the batteries would...

    Build: 445nm 1.7W Skyray

Hey all, question, with the 18650's that I'm using , when I attach one of those to the diode it shines visibly, but it's not quite at burning power. I can hold the battery to the diode for a good 30 seconds before it's even distinguishably warm. Is this a diode issue, or should I go buy new...

    Build: 445nm 1.7W Skyray

Yeah, sorry about that, didn't know my smartphone took such hi-rez pics. Will do! :) Update: Laser is running, shines beautifly in the night. Pictures are being posted to OP :]

    Build: 445nm 1.7W Skyray

Hey all, so I'm building a laser, just got the diode in today, so now I decided to do a build thread with pictures. ZeroLasers have been backed up like nothing else, so originally the host was going to be ZL's Skyray Host, but with the backlog I also ordered a Survival Lasers S4 Host with a...

    Hello

Hello everybody, just recently I purchased some supplies to build a 1.7W 445nm laser, so I'm pretty excited to build it. I've been looking on these forums for some time, but haven't posted anything, so it would be fantastic if you guys accepted me into your community. (P.S, I did indeed...
