    Is Laser a focusing light or defocusing?

    Did you ever get an answer? I am looking to do the same thing, de-focusing the light of colored laser pointers to illuminate a piece of crystalware from a small distance inside a glass showcase, and achieve a Red, White and Blue effect on it... :-) If you found an answer, can you share it...
