You would be able to see the beam of that laser, it's just not high quality. Probably wouldn't be terrible for a first laser. Just be sure to buy a decent battery and a good charger. Or you could check out rayfoss.com They have decent priced on spec lasers. I recommend you get a 50-100mw green...

It'll probably be around 30mw of actual output. Interesting how it says you can use either 1x 18650, or 2 x 16340. I bet you can only use 1x 18650. Also funny how it says the brightness is >350lm LOL. Not how you measure laser light. Honestly I wouldn't buy that, but it would still be a decent...
