IR Focusable Laser project, ILLEGAL, lol srsly

here's a link to a thread w/ video I made to show what 5mw and 20mw of green looks like in night vision. I also filter out all the visable green with an ir pass filter, and show the remaining ir that "bleeds through" the green. as you can see, both lasers, while low power, are too bright. if...

a little experiment show how much collaninated IR is in a green dpss

it also shows that underneath that green is some fairly well collaninated IR. lots of users here playing with high powered green lasers containing "filters" that may or may not be doing anything, and relying on safety glasses for green. it also shows thay "5mw of green" can be 2mw green plus...

sorry, I failed at youtube embed. link to you tube provided.

a little experiment show how much collaninated IR is in a green dpss

a little video I shot for another project. 5mw green on the left, 20mw green on the right. halfway through I install ir pass filters. these begin blocking all visable light starting at 720nm. as you can see, even with all the green filtered out, a bright (IR) dot can be seen with night vision...

IR Laser pointer spot is not dot

people pay thousands of dollars to travel to your state to hunt LEGALLY at night. In many states its completely legal. In Texas its an entire tourism industry. Do you have any suggestions for the op?

IR Focusable Laser project, ILLEGAL, lol srsly

peak sensitivity for IR varys from one nv generation to another. look at the specs for commercial/military lasers and illuminators designed to be used with gen 3 and you'll quickly see the common wavelengths used. TNVC's website has all the wavelengths and power outputs listed, it should give...

    Hello from Maryland

Gen 4 doesn't exist, some use that term but it is purely marketing hype, but filmless is an advance in gen 3 technology. however it comes with a price, namely it is more vulnerable to damage from shock, drops, recoil. video images are sometimes misleading, video quality, environmental...

IR Focusable Laser project, ILLEGAL, lol srsly

led based ir illuminators are relatively inexpensive. streamlight super tac tnvc's da torch and torch pro surefire vampire lights and eagletac's super highbpowered osram based offerings check some of them out and look at their power output. usually only a couple hundred mw max. an ir laser...

New Laser Build for Night Vision

well I was actually suggesting the rifle mounted monitor and a laptop or hardrive in addition to it. the pulsars and some thermals have a seperatr video output so you can record to a portable hardrive. the youtube videos of many digital nv devices are recorded this way, giving higher quality...

New Laser Build for Night Vision

well, spend a couple more bucks and run the video out to a portable hardrive and post the testing videos and hunting videos.

New Laser Build for Night Vision

something nice about a real scope like the pulsar n550, if you pick it up used, you can resell it for what you have into it usually. real intensifier based nv, while expensive, holds its value well. rolaid's setup, is a bunch of expensive used electronics and bits when he's done with it...

New Laser Build for Night Vision

-12v power for the camera -? v power for the lcd display -loss of light transferance through the scope, this is a big one, expect a huge decrease in efficiancy -mounting everything together and standing up tobthe recoil, .243 is a medium cartridge but it shoots light, still quite the investment...

New Laser Build for Night Vision

are you trying to make a rifle scope like rolaid's? because while his setup looks ingenius, it has some major drawbacks

    Laser pointers in urban warfare

if we give egypt anything remotely as good as our military pilots used 20 years ago green lasers won't phase them. considering we give them f16s I think its a strong possibility.

New Laser Build for Night Vision

i just watched this video review on that camera, the user used it in daylight and night, so any wavelength light up to its max sensitivity should work to illuminate, 720 808 840 850 ect. EJ230 Night Vision Camera Review & How To Adjust - YouTube

New Laser Build for Night Vision

I'm having trouble googling up the specs on that sony ccd. I looked 3 places and got 3 different specs. all the commercial digital nv devices I'm aware of are daylight and ir sensitive. that's actually one of the benefits of this technology in its early stages. if that is the case with this ccd...

Night vision systems with 910nm illumination?

Illumunation and Designation are two seperate tasks. Designation is using a laser to aim a weapon or point accurately at something in a way that can only be seen with night vision. 5mw of 904nm works well, it is far enough from gen 3's peak sensitivity that it doesn't bloom and overwhelm the...

Blue laser weapon sight? (noob questions)

All aspects of the firearms industry are either heavily regulated by state and federal laws, or dependant on state and federal sales. Gun accessory manufacturers (scopes, lights, lasers ect) are subject to itar regulations fron the department of state. Running afoul of FDA regulations with...

What is the longest wavelength of laser light you have seen?

I can see a faint dot from a 820nm labeled 25mw. I think above 800ish to about 850 (maybe higher), visable is relative to power output and collamination.

Will IR be seen through sheet of paper

ir light can travel through lots of materials that are opaque to the naked eye.
