List of projectors that have diodes in them.

Hmm, last I heard its not against the law to list a Name and part number. And I already know about all that drama.

Removed due to too much drama.

Found these projectors for dirt cheap but

I do a lot of mining as long as its free. I'm always looking at various auctions and have passed up some great deals only because I didn't know if they had diodes in them. I'm gonna check out the manufacturers websites of the model numbers and hopefully I can find some data. I'm gonna start a...

Found these projectors for dirt cheap but

Thanks. Is there a list somewhere of projectors that have diodes in them?

Blord COPPER DOMINATOR! One laser to rule them ALL!

Love the copper heatsink. Btw. Did you sand the anodizing from the top piece? Or was it bare aluminum already? The shiny aluminum on black looks awesome.

Found these projectors for dirt cheap but

Does anyone know if they have laser diodes in them. A couple of them are high end units in the 3and4 thousand dollar range. I'll post the link in case someone can buy them. Right now the bid is only 40 bucks and their are 5 of them. Five (5) Projectors For Parts or Repair - GovDeals.com I...

    Heatsink/mount question

Did you look at the size specs? I'm thinking its way too small for more than 1 diode.

    My 445 build :)

I can't lie. I was just a bit nervous. You just never know what will happen. But then I saw the light and was like, whew. Nobody wants to lose such an expensive diode. Gonna finish painting my battery extension this week then make a video and take a few more pictures. Think I might make a cool...

Question about power output from different battery types

In my opinion you need to check the specs of your driver and stay within the required voltage. Check the current your driver is set at make sure your batteries will supply enough current. That's a bad ass diode so why under drive it? The battery will effect the output. If you have 2 1000mah...

    My 445 build :)

It's the first time I turned it on. I hadn't focused it or anything. I'm using a G2 lens. I just wanted a picture of the first thing I saw when I turned it on the first time.

    My 445 build :)

Finally got a little time to finish it and make a post. I kept the pics small for fast loading. I'm not going into great detail like most but here it is. Here's my steps because I now know its not just cut and dry as to what you order and I did make a vital mistake so maybe this will help...

    Old Man's Brilliant Idea

I had the same problem but had a little more room than you. I used tennis balls with a string through them hung from above. Put them at the entry and mid way in. Won't scratch and will help you stay aligned. Two on each side placed maybe an inch away on each side should work. Just a thought.

The seamless bronze pointer :D w/pics

Thank you all for the compliments. I'm enjoying this new hobby. Lots to learn and the possibilities are endless. The pointer feels great in your hand. Has a good weight to it and just feels solid.

The seamless bronze pointer :D w/pics

No I do not sell anything. I just do it for fun. I stripped out one of those 4 dollar eBay pens :D. Cheapest way to get a module and driver. I don't have a lot of extra money so I have to improvise. Also I machined the bronze a little tight so the heatsink made a good connection to the host...

Thanks for that compliment. I enjoy doing machining work for my toys.

The seamless bronze pointer :D w/pics

Thought I would make a pointer with a good feel and nice look. And it would have less of a chance of breaking. I bored it out then machined the threads. I turned down the outside last to give the appearance of being seamless.

My first attempt and some questions

Well I tested it and it does burn plastic and will light a match colored black. I'm shocked that it does because against the hand I feel no heat at all. But you can't argue with real data. Thanks to all for your help and comments now to think about a real build. Thank you. Yea it wasn't a...

My first attempt and some questions

Thank you for clearing that up for me. The red wings were driving me crazy. I'll just let it be now. Mohrenberg..... Thanks. I'll test it out tonight. It's seems odd you can't feel any heat but it can still burn something. That's so odd and hard to grasp in my head. But kinda cool still. Now...

My first attempt and some questions

The lens was out of an old barcode scanner. Not a handheld unit. More like a production line unit.

My first attempt and some questions

Heres a few pictures of me playing around with an experimental build. It's more me just trying to learn and figure out things for myself. I machined a heatsink to fit into a small mag light housing and I made the focusing adjustment and lens holder. I did learn a lot playing around. This wasnt a...
