Well, I can report that it works! A contractor at my work had a few CR123A's and I popped one in and the laser is functional. Once my 16340's come in I'll replace it but at least I know it works. As for whether or not it's up to spec I don't have a tester of any kind to find out.

Arrrgh what's a good battery for this HL532-50 anyway? Only thing I see local are 3V with differing mAh, and 3.7v online from random places.
