Looks like the FDA is finally fed up with handheld lasers...

I'm just glad that we have some great laser companies that are actually based in the U.S.

    In Depth Look - 532nm PGL-III-C 800mW!!!!

How much brighter would you say? Would it look something like the beam shot you took of your CNI 800mw and your 100mw laser?

    In Depth Look - 532nm PGL-III-C 800mW!!!!

How would 260mw compare to 800mw of 532? Wanting to get a optotronics 260 by the end of September for beam viewing and the awesome divergence. Does the extra power make beam visibility that much better to where it is worth paying more for a higher power laser?

Laserglow no longer shipping handhelds over 5mW

Its only USA they are not shipping them to. So I'm sure they will stay in buissnes

Laserglow no longer shipping handhelds over 5mW

I was just on Laserglow's website and it appears they are not shipping any handheld lasers over 5mW regardless if they have the 5 point safety system. I don't remember seeing this on their site before so I am a little confused. Does anyone know if they have changed company policy or has the FDA...

    Some questions.

I believe the host is anodized and has some black paint on it which was put on originally by the manufacturer. I think removing that would be hardest part.

    Some questions.

Does anybody know? I don't want to start this project if it won't work.

    In Depth Look - 532nm PGL-III-C 800mW!!!!

@shakenawake I was talking about beam brightness. I was using the brightness calculater so what I was saying may be inaccurate.

    In Depth Look - 532nm PGL-III-C 800mW!!!!

Well I was going by the brightness calculator so I could be wrong. I just want my 260 rpl to have a better beam than my 1.4 445. (Haven't gotten the rpl yet)

    In Depth Look - 532nm PGL-III-C 800mW!!!!

^ THIS! Except I really like the hosts of the rpl's! (Besides the shutter). Also, a rpl 260 should have a better beam than a 3 watt 445 so a rpl 500 should be way brighter right?

    CNI GB Round 2 FEELER

I always assumed that 80mw of 589 would have a clearly visible beam at night. And how can you be having trouble see the beam of a 100mw 532nm? Are you talking about at night or day?

    Some questions.

My first question is what is the best way to polish a laser host? The host that I have that I want polished is a laserglow Galileo host. The second question is will a o like module fit into thus same host? I would like to get around 50mw. Basically the goal here is to have a super shiny Galileo...

    CNI GB Round 2 FEELER

I would totally be in for 50 mW+ 473 or 589 but I'm trying to save up for a opto rpl 260.

    Dpss-How long will they last?

I have wanted to purchase a optotronics rpl for awhile now. But I don't want shove out 600 plus dollars only to have my laser out dated by diodes a few years later. Obviously diodes will eventually replace 532nm dpss lasers, but my question is when? 5 years? 10 years? Maybe sooner? Is it even...
