    Projecting points

Hi, cheers for the reply, I don't want a full 180 degrees but jsut looking for a decent spreed of which 90 would be OK i think. How often do you need to draw a point with a laser per second, or hold long for each second does it need to be lit to appear constant?

    Projecting points

Are there any systems that could be a hobby project that could project a star field using lasers. Not the kind of star field that is random, by shining light through a filter. But a star field that is calculated and then projected (Like a planetarium) I want to be able to project about 2,000...

    Hobbiest scanner

Cheers for the reply, so now I need to find a pico projector with decent resolution, if possible laser, and very high contrast. In other words I want the black to be very black. I don't suppose you know any manufactures to look in to or theses to avoid? Thanks.

    Hobbiest scanner

Hi, I am looking for some help working out the best solution for a little project I am doing. It's a simple star-field generator written on a raspberry pi, with or berating binary systems and starting to introduce some basic gravity interactions. I always had it in mind to eventually project...

    Looking for some conformation.

yes you need to produce the image as a frame and at a fast enough refresh rate to fool the eye in to seeing a single image. I was saying if each complete frame has no more than 1000 points then you could use a raster method to display it. not saying its a good idea just possible.

    Looking for some conformation.

Got you, I see what you mean, in vector you plot points along a line and the galvos trace along it while you modulate the laser. you are right when you say you could only produce an image of 220X220 but that assumes you at times want to reproduce all 50,000 points at once. However if I only...

    1 trillion frames per second

give credit where its due and post to the original video ;) Ramesh Raskar: Imaging at a trillion frames per second | Video on TED.com crazy stuff this idea, just the way they do it is out of this world.

    Looking for some conformation.

OK so new to laser scanners and controllers so just wanted to ask for some conformation. From what I understand most laser displays work by using a scanning process Each laser is swept back and forth using Galvo's at a set speed. By knowing how fast the laser is scanning and timing the laser...

    Hello All.

Hi, Just wanted to say hello, and say why I am here. Really quite new to Lasers, can tell you how laser light is produced at the atomic leave as electrons jump between energy states, but I have to say my knowledge really is from the science side and not at all engineering. My wife got me...
