Most hostile forum i've ever seen

yeah that worked well. I've been off forums for a year or two in general. I learned what i needed and moved on. Now I need new hobbies and the custom search on here by Google is new to me. I'm more into parts and pieces and i guess i'm even falling behind on software development. I feel...

    Hello! cheap china stuff questions

fair, but i'm not concerned with it anymore. and he was posting about something else from PM and other places, off topic in this thread. doesn't that sound weird to you?

Most hostile forum i've ever seen

I havn't been doing that but I will start. the search does suck, but also it seams nobody really cares about reducing laser power. so ND filter info is scarce already

    Hello! cheap china stuff questions

you missed the point. He only posted here today. this thread is old. He did it to scold me. In his mind apparently I need punished because my searches don't produce the right results so I then ask on the forum and he's been following me around being mean IMO I can take it, whatever, but...

    power reduction with diffraction grating?

I WOULD NEVER SHINE A LASER IN SOMEBODIES FACE LET ALONE THE ARTIST i CAME TO SEE. OR A PLANE! GOT IT PEOPLE! To everybody else.... thank you so much. you make some valid suggestions. I'm trying to get info on maybe using a neutral density filter but people are being uncooperative in helping.

    Laser problems.

are you electrically grounded when you mess with your parts? It probably goes without saying that you do this but I thought I might recommend it :yh:

a lot of you seem nice, and I'd like to gain the knowledge to get to where I want, but right now. I have a purpose, and I just want to accomplish a goal. I just wanted some help getting there because searching hasn't braught the answers. that's what i'm talking about. many of you could...

    Hello! cheap china stuff questions

are you going around and commenting on my posts to make me angry? Isn't that something a troll would do? Your not even talking about the thread man? give it rest please.

Neutral density filter not for high power, but what's the limit?

should I assume at this point, nobody will answer my question? The only other think I know is that you don't want reflection back into the diode. I already have a fix designed. I want to do this so I can make it a safe and legal laser. OK?

Neutral density filter not for high power, but what's the limit?

see I would never shine the laser at people in the first place. I'm trying to find a way to reduce the power of a laser with an optic, but from 100mw down to 3mw or so. I just want to take this unusable 100mw laser and make it a long lasting pointer. I don't want to change the flexdrive If I...

Most hostile forum i've ever seen

So that about says it all. Yeah i'm a noob, yeah I don't know much about lasers, but that's why i'm here. I'm convinced veteran members are hazing new forum members to force them leave. They want to use this place for themselves and not let the community grow. You know who you are. :thanks...

Neutral density filter not for high power, but what's the limit?

Jerry, that's the second time you've linked me that link. It's not working. why don't you try answering my question instead of trolling me. thanks. You link doesn't provide me with a confirmation that a nd filter with a 1.5 density would effectively bring down the power of a 100mw laser to...

Neutral density filter not for high power, but what's the limit?

I'm under the impression a neutral density filter could cut beam power down significantly, and at a 1.5 density effectively turn a 100mw laser into a 3 mw laser. But is that ok to do? The glass absorbs the light, but I can't imagine it having an issue with up to 200mw. Also, am I right on...

Which inexpensive laser pointer should I get?

This place is pretty hard on new guys so be on your best behavior. I got my first 2 posts locked until I explained myself to the moderator on how I utilize forums and what my research capacities are. I would recommend the one with the filters. They are fun. You should check out...

    power reduction with diffraction grating?

unfortunately it's 405 so it's almost invisible to me. I'm thinking if I can make it a cool fog machine laser and it won't blind people i'll be safe. I'm pretty sure it's 100mw now. maybe less. I foudn the same laser listed with 100mw and 1000m is what mine had listed for distance. so it...

    power reduction with diffraction grating?

Yes I really want the power down, and since a diffraction grating looks cool, that's what I thought might be best. So the spread doesn't happen evenly... that's not safe then. I found a diy lpm guide with black foil and a IR temperature meter. So perhaps i'll make one and buy some...

    power reduction with diffraction grating?

ah cool thanks for the answer. I'm afraid though even searching with everything I had I didn't find that page. I wasn't looking for the key words in that post. It's hard to know to search what you don't know to search, but again, thanks for explaining and linking. The reductions in power...

    Found some alkalline battery charts

very true. a quick search found this. 18650 battery tests with graphs and discharge rates.

    Found some alkalline battery charts

Alkaline Battery Shoot Out It's nice info. since lasers take low amp's and there are multiple tests it looks to me like the best aaa for maximum average ah would Rite aid, and a extremely close second rayovac max. I was looking for my new 5mw optotronics and thought i'd share

    power reduction with diffraction grating?

I've been trying to find a ratio for how much power is lost each time a laser is split. I was hoping it could drop mw output on a ~ 100mw laser through a star grating in order to use at concerts. if there are 100 dots would that mean each one would be 1mw?
