    help on first laser (:

For someone who isn't a WL fan, you gotta hell of a lot of Wicked Lasers !!! Also, if you buy from survival lasers, remember to go to the US website if you're located in the US, and use code LPF445. Buying and shipping from O-like can be brutal, because even though shippings $6, it...

    help on first laser (:

Well, when it comes to lasers you have to get goggles too, which may be more expensive than the laser. Green lasers produce high amounts of Infrared light, so they need IR filters to be safe to use, unless you buy goggles that protect against both green and IR.Which can be expensive, survival...

    WTB: 100mw red pen.

Thanks for the info. I think I will stick with normal AAA's for now, but I may use Lithium batteries instead. As for the 635nm, I was hoping for it to be 5mw as to be able to use it safely without goggles (even though shining a laser in your eye is never advised). As for safety first, I have a...

    WTB: 100mw red pen.

Nice to know that those lasers are on or overspec Pman. I doubt mine will be any different if both tested quite a bit over-spec, hope I get a 150mw one :D. Does the host take two AAA's and the 10440 is the size of both together or did you rig the 10440 to fit? It says it works at 3v so that...

    WTB: 100mw red pen.

This seems to fit your needs It is focusable and o-like has a fairly good reputation. I ordered one, it hasn't arrived yet because their shipping takes forever. Its only $12 so even if it isn't on spec it's still a nice price for the host, since a 5mw newwish pen is only a few bucks cheaper and...

1400mw blue survival laser for sale

Oh damn. Couldn't you have waited 2 months to sell it! I plan to get a 1W+ for my birthday and I've already drained a bunch of money on lasers these past 2 weeks! At those prices, with a middleman willing to LPM the laser, it probably wont be long until it sells. Good luck, and if you...

Advice needed for buget 200mw red's & goggles

Also, just a heads up to people, at the local radioshack, the parts for the driver cost $15!!! Isn't the driver supposed to be cheap!?!? I think that's kinda crazy for a regulator and some resistors.

Advice needed for buget 200mw red's & goggles

Ok, I will buy a blu ray diode for the driver pressed into a module from hightechdealz <-- That one and get another old cd burner and press it in a module. Hopefully the only thing that went wrong was not having a module to heatsink. With a PHR803T diode, will axiz module heatsinking be...

Advice needed for buget 200mw red's & goggles

So crazy news! Yesterday I took apart a dvd burner and found a diode that looked like a LPC815, but x16. So I went to radio shack and bought components to built an LM317 driver using this schematic. The driver worked great! I got a steady 5.3 ohms, the desired number being 5 (+/- .5) ohms and...

Advice needed for buget 200mw red's & goggles

Ok, then I will shine it for around 2 seconds in the corner where the frame blocks the veiw, and see how it holds up. I hope the reflection won't hit me in the eye, I'll use it below my waist angled downward.

Advice needed for buget 200mw red's & goggles

So you believe they are providing enough protection? Also, a 100mw will melt it, from what I heard they can take a few seconds and its ok as long as you move the goggles around instead of just pointing it at in one area. If a 100mw will quickly melt it, how can it protect me from a 1-2 watt blue...

Advice needed for buget 200mw red's & goggles

I ended up getting the eagle pair, link below. If I send the beam through, beam isn't visible anyway, I see a very very faint dot at the other side, biut its FAR under 1 mw. But I woudnt be supprised if the 5mw is a little overspec, but a few mw shouldn't matter. I can also see the dot if I look...

Advice needed for buget 200mw red's & goggles

About that being my last question, I Lied :) are the goggles supposed to let some light through when I aim a laser at them. I can see a faint dot coming through with my probably overspec "<5mw" red I got off amazon. Is this so you can see the laser while you use it, the scary thing is the laser...

Survival Laser 190-470 nm & 660-760nm safety goggles (First Review!)

For my first high powered laser purchase I wen't with an O-like 100mw red (has not yet arrived) and Eagle Pair 190-470nm & 660-760nm (manufacturer rates them to 610-760nm!) Laser Safety Goggles from survival lasers, which I will be reviewing. I discussed my purchase it on this thread. Keep in...

Advice needed for buget 200mw red's & goggles

Haha, no problem, thanks for all the fast responses. Also, turns out that when I was debating what eagle pair to get, there was a thread dedicated to that exact question (the one time I don't look for existing threads, probably other than the question I just asked). thread: HERE Turns out the...

Advice needed for buget 200mw red's & goggles

Ok, then I will use it and shine it at the black wood fence (not lacquered). But that last sentence seems weird. Isn't the momentary switch safer? If so, why did you say I say"even with a momentary switch"? Sorry to keep bothering you, I know I said 2 posts ago that it was my last question...

Advice needed for buget 200mw red's & goggles

Thanks for the info, however, it doesn't exactly answer my question. I know that up close the dot is painful, even my 5mw green is. However, I still am unsure if its acceptable to, say, point it 50 feet away in the backyard and look at the beam. As far as xoul's thread, I had read it prior to...

Advice needed for buget 200mw red's & goggles

Thanks for all the help guys :) My lasers and goggles are orders and should arrive shortly (expect a review) My very last question is this. I Heard from many members to ALWAYS wear safety goggles. If I'm always wearing them then whats the point other then burning? I have heard from others that...

Advice needed for buget 200mw red's & goggles

Thanks so much for the info, hopefully a 100mw is powerful enough to burn through a cd case, when its that low powered it may take forever if it works at all! Personally, I'm not expecting it to be on spec, but even for 50-70mw, $12 is practically the same price as a 5mw red, but if it burns...
